yeah, roll up your window. when we landed she says i don't do this full time. i'm working the post office. she said the plane came in a box. >> steve: look what steve has? ♪ happy birthday, mr. president. today joe biden turns 81. they have a low key celebration in nantucket. the president got to pardon the "tucker carlson tonight" and go that way. the best president for the oldest president would be a strategy for addressing voters' concerns that he just too darn old. because, right now, all they have got is the white house says well, you know, joe has achieved a lot. he is a world leader. and he is not donald trump. but the polls show people are not persuaded. >> brian: right. that is true. >> we know major polls major polls not looking good for joe biden. what about the newest poll? you have the nbc poll. >> this poll shows the hypothetical between the presidents, here 44% for joe biden. 46% for trump. but if you go deeper into the polls, i want to take you back to 2020 joe biden was at 51%. donald trump was still at 46%. not just that. in the past election in 2016, donald trump still remains at 46%. but hillary clinton was at 48%. you get the trend in these national polls they really don't move that much unless you are a dem. it's really going to be the swing states. and it's also going to be the key demographics. i will take you here. this is a big demographic for the president right here. he won in the past election. by 20 points. and now these young voters right now only at 42% approval rating. donald trump is still at that 46% mark. the issues that matter to them it's the new thing that i call money and wars right here. they give the president grace when it comes to the economy. but they don't give him grace when it comes to him promising the student loans that they were going to go away. they were going to be able to buy a house with that money. he went through the channels when he knew that the supreme court was going to strike it down. they are holding him accountable for that they just don't like his stance on foreign policy right now. and they are in line with 62% of the country. the next demographic is going to be the independents. now, biden won 52% of the independent vote. they are striking out right now. it's the economy, it is crime, they still want to run on abortion. we will see how it's going to work for them. right now you got only 30% approval among independents, guys. >> steve: thank you very much, lawrence. great laying it all out. we know the number one concern that people on both parties have is the president is too old. and that is the one thing he can't do anything about. you know, and the real problem is with joe biden, you look at joe biden in 2020, and you look at him now, there are visible signs of aging. you know, botox can only do so much. the problem is he doesn't just seem older. he seems elderly. where it's frail and unstable. i know he got his last physical last february where he got a clean bill of health. but, you know, the president, if his family is honest with him, this weekend, in nantucket, if they are really concerned, he should ask his family am i too old? and if they're honest they would probably say you know what, pops, you got a lot accomplished maybe it is time to retire. >> ainsley: there is an article that talks about bubble wrap strategy. his administration is deploying bubble wrap strategy stop him from falling in public like he did at the air force academy commencement in june. i'm wondering, if last week he was saying to gavin newsom and san francisco, i think you could do my job. i wonder if maybe they will discuss that in nantucket and just say, look, do you really want to do this? this is your chance to get out. go on top like seinfeld. >> ainsley: so much scrutiny. biden holds advantage white voters with are education. trump over with -- >> brian: losing to trump, halely and desantis. david axelrod continues to say and be honest. he came out and said. this i think he has a 50/50 shot. but no better than that maybe a little worse. he thinks he can cheat nature. here it is a little risky. they have a real problem if they are going to count on trump to win for them. i remember hillary tried that, too. i will add something else to that maureen dowd over the weekend go to bat for david axelrod. before you use explicative to talk about david axelrod and you and your performance, remember, he was the one who helped put you on the ticket if not the deciding vote. also, remember, when there was talk of hillary clinton coming in and running with barack obama who was sucking wind in the polls, they said no, it would be incredible act of disloyalty and he has done a really good job. now, you might look at david axelrod and say wait a second. maybe is he just being honest and maybe he really has no ax to grind. there is no great candidate that david axelrod seems to want to run instead of joe biden. and steve, what you were saying about gavin newsom, gavin news loses to trump. gam has a huge problem with his track record. >> he has that big debate next week desantis. >> he is not-david axelrod is not putting out the name of anybody did you s. but maybe he has somebody in mind aside from michelle obama. >> that's true. >> everybody thinks if michelle obama wanted to get into politics and do it. she has no political experience other than being the first lady. but then again neither did donald trump until he became president. she would win. >> ainsley: does she want to be in the white house and have that responsibility and stress. in 2021 trump endorsed greg abbott. the governor of texas for his third run for governor. third term. when he was running against beto o'rourke. now the governor is returning the favor he endorsed trump. he said on x i'm proud to endorse him and trump joined him in edinburgh, texas yesterday for democrat addition of serving the tamales to texas dps troopers and texas national guardsmen deployed along the southern border. first you will hear from the governor and then president trump. >> i'm here today to officially proclaim my endorsement for donald j. trump to be president of the united states of america again. >> this is a tremendous honor to get that endorsement, in particular. because he really stepped up. he stepped up to the plate. he is doing the job of what the federal government is supposed to be doing i'm just telling you, mr. governor. i am going to make your job much easier. you will be able to focus on other things in texas. we love texas and what they have done is very unfair. they have given the job to you. it's a job of security for our country. it's a job of stopping an invasion. because it's an invasion. and you have done great job and thank you very much for the endorsement, greg. i appreciate it very much. thank you. >> brian: what is interesting 6l public, according to a fox news poll is very concerned about border security. you know, for a while it was like don't bring up the border. trump is so tough on the border. a lot of people think hispanics are going to run from you if you do that. a niche thing. intolerance for immigrants. country totally flipped on that. i was watching another network try to skew trump's appearance at the border. trump wants to get tough on immigration he is talking about rounding up people. going into camps might be a little extreme rounding up illegals did you see what cardi b. says all our money in new york city is going to illegal immigrants that want to be here and you shouldn't cut the cops. then we watched that city council meeting in chicago where they came in chanting forget sanctuary city. okay, 2016 might have been a little controversial. 2024, not so much. >> steve: brian, were you watching the other channel on your private jet?
