♪ . >> hello, everybody, i'm joey jones along with dr. nicole sapphire. lieutenant colonel, tulsi gabbard. it's five in new york city and this is "the five." >> fox news alert, dramatic new video showing 24 hostages and red cross vans being driven to safety. after spending nearly 50 days in captivity, by the terrorists known as hamas. among them are 13 israeli women and children, but no americans were freed. fighting in gaza pausing for the first time since the war started way back on october 7. this is for a four-day truce. president biden is reacting for the first time. >> from the moment hamas kidnapped these people i along with my team have worked around the clock to secure the release. >> teddy bear is waiting to greet those children at the hospital. a stark reminder of the trauma these children have been through at such a very young age. we expect more hostages to be released tomorrow and more the day after and the day after that. -- [inaudible] >> i think the chances are real. i don't trust hamas to do anything right. >> i only trust hamas to respond to pressure. >> we're hearing more hostages will be released tomorrow. jeff paul is live from southern israel with more on this. jeff? >> joey, on top of the 13 who were released, as you mentioned, we're learning another 13 likely to be released tomorrow. the israeli government confirming they do have a list of names, and they are in the process of calling all the families of the hostages to let them know exactly who is on that list and who is not. it's a bit of a bittersweet development, when you realize there are still more than 200 people according to the israeli government who are being held hostage by hamas but today nonetheless was a huge and significant first step. now, here's what we know about who was released. 24 people so far are being released by hamas. 13 israelis, 11 foreign nationals. among the israelis freed we know four were kids. ages ranging from 2 years old to 9 years old. one of those kids actually turned 9 years old while being held by hamas. three were also mothers and six are elderly women. so far, the truce between israel and hamas appears to be holding, but idf spokesperson danielle says even with the pause in fighting israeli forces remain focused on one of their core objectives and that's rooting out hamas. >> the idf will continue the preparations for the next phases of the war. idf troops are ready and prepared on all the fronts. >> this was the moment when a convoy of rescue hostages passed by a group of israelis. they were cheering and clapping just knowing some of those people were finally getting home. it's critical, though, this cease-fire keeps up to continue that flow with a pause in fighting, though, several different aid trucks made their way into gaza delivering things like fuel and cooking gas. we also know that 33 palestinian prisoners, both women and teenagers, were released from israel. the next couple of days are going to be critical. we know another 13 will be released tomorrow. if this truce holds it looks like more aid will be getting in and the next day after that we'll see the same thing happening. we're also learning tonight that the hospital where the kids were taken, here in israel, they are reporting that the kids appear to be in good condition. joey? >> thanks, jeff. stay safe. >> as we pray for the safe return of all of the hostages the liberal media is once again making an absolute fool out of themselves over this very topic. take a look at this israeli spokesman's stunned reaction. >> i was speaking to a negotiation this morning and he made a comparison between the 50 hostages that hamas has promised to release as opposed to the 150 prisoners that israel has said will release and he made the comparison between the numbers and the fact, does israel not think that palestinian lives are valued as highly as israeli lives? >> that's an astonishing accusation. if we could release one prisoner for every one hostage we would obviously do that. we're operating in horrific circumstances. >> yes that looked -- that says it all. if that wasn't crazy enough anti-israel protestors are going to glue their hands to the ground today in trying to disrupt the macy's thanksgiving parade yesterday. there were more protests happening today including these folks who shrouded at president biden while he was in nantucket. [shouts] [shouting praise palestine] >> katy, this idea of them chanting free palestine, a group came counsel behind me, we have two wars happening at once. we have a ground war and a propaganda information war. i've gone back and forth in a lot of conversations on this. what do you think this release, that hamas was willing to come to the table, their most valuable asset are these hostages. what does this mean tactically? >> first, to those screaming free palestine, you have had a cease-fire now so that was supposed to be an association piece and that proves they don't want israel to exist at all. but clearly the reason why we're here is not because of just diplomatic negotiations that are happening in qatar where the iranian prime minister was visiting either yesterday or the day before, it's because of israel's military action in the gaza strip to pressure them to come to the table. we don't know where all of these hostages are. hamas says they are trying to locate them within the gaza strip. we know some palestinian gaza residents took some of them hostage to keep them for payment. other groups like islamic jihad also had some of these hostages so locating where they are is very difficult. but it really does contrast in terms of the numbers, 50 israeli hostages for 150 palestinian terrorists. these are not people who were taken from their homes and slaughtered or taken hostage from a music festival. these are mean who attempted to kill israeli soldiers, who attempted to kill israeli citizens and they are now being equated as the same thing. they are not. finally, i would say, hamas is still continuing the psychological warfare. they returned a woman today who they claimed was dead, so her family believed for many, many weeks she was not returned. thank god she was returned. but they know what they are doing in terms of psychological warfare. this group is holding baby hostages and we hear a lot about war yams and international law. that's one of the violations and maybe people should focus on that a little more than what israel is doing. >> back to that very odd interview on sky news where somehow they tried to say, i guess, an israeli life is worth more, i didn't understand what she was trying to say but ultimately one hostage for every three prisoners. completely innocent lives versus three people who have committed crimes and been convicted. plus they stopped aerial surveillance. they had to stop their assault. hamas is going to at least try to regain some footing about themselves. they are so scattered, did israel get a good deal? do you think they were pressured to do it? >> i think they were pressured, but what's so frustrating they tried to frame them as moral equals in that israel chooses to do business this this fashion. israel is in an impossible situation. they are not trading, as katy said, good people for good people. okay? one side are civilians that were taken hostage against their will. one side is a bunch of thugs and murderers but they have gotten used to getting their way when it comes to hostage exchanges. we did an exchange with iran and we sent billions and gave away more people than we got back. we value life more than they do and that's what makes it so frustrating, is when they try to establish a moral equivalency there is none. one side is willing to kill babies. one side is willing to para-glide into civilians. the other side is willing to avoid casualties. >> if there is any pressure coming to israel you have to believe some of it is from the biden administration. i'll go out on a limb and say the biden administration should be trying to get americans home that should be a priority. i want to play a clip here from biden on what he thinks is the catalyst. >> i can't believe what i'm about to say but i believe one of the reasons why hamas struck when they did, they knew i was working very closely with the sawudi -- saudis and others to bring peace and i think most arab nations know it to change the dynamic in the region for a longer term peace and that's what i'm going to continue to worken. >> an israeli spokesperson backed it up and gave him some credit, but if you look historically can, killing a chief lieutenant in the iranian terrorist army in my opinion, is this an american posture that drove hamas to do this or is this more regional? >> okay, i think it's both. we have to look at the bigger picture and i don't disagree with what he said and it's clear that what they wanted to accomplish is actually happening. that's the terrible thing. we talk about different types of warfare that are occurring. the information warfare. the psychological operation. >> okay. those talks have stopped, completely, and any progress that was being made in that direction has gone away, but when you listen to that sky news reporter and the question that she asked, she's emblematic of this broader issue we're seeing with many so-called reporters who aren't just reporting facts, but instead essentially doing hamas' work for them. hamas' goal is to turn the world against israel, in order to reach their objective goal, and that's to wipe israel off the face of the earth. they are succeeding in doing that by using reporters who have become their propagandists, and those who are naturally compassionate by nature are hearing this and it's not representative of the truth and falling for it. and turning against israel, and not actually seeing the truth of how terrorist groups, hamas and others, have always used civilians for human shields and hid behind them for this exact season because they know the news media will throw the propaganda out them without telling the full story of their la conchita bar rick tactics and their willingness to sacrifice innocent children, women and civilians to achieve their objective. people need to understand the whole truth on this whole war. >> part of the whole truth is the fact these hostages come home and they are going to be treated well but at some point, they have to go in and ask questions. they have to get some information. they have heard conversations, and how many people were in this room or that room. how difficult is that going to be for those hostages? >> certainly one of the biggest disappointments i had today when the president spoke, he still says he has no idea of the reason of the american hostages. we don't have an accurate count of how many are being held, and yet as jimmy pointed out, israel values life and that's why there is a cease-fire right now and they have decided to put pause on their ground operation knowing they are prolonging how much longer isn't civilians are still going to good in these tunnels of terror. yes, we're so grateful that some were returned today but there are still many down there. we don't know how they are doing and the emotional and physical aspects and the consequences of being down in these tunnels, they will be very long lasting. yes, they are going to have to speak to authorities and they are going to have to recount these traumas. as you know, joey, once you have experienced trauma, that's something that will stick with you for your entire life and they are going to have to recount it over and over again. >> you hope what they have learned in servicing veterans here in the last 20 years i hope some of that is applied. if nothing else, our sacrifice will be helpful in that way. >> absolutely. as you know it's a tough road and there are still americans and many innocent civilians being kept in these tunnels of terror. >> we know some of the families are still broken up. some people who did get released today have family members that are hostages. biden does it again. calling for unity while also asking supporters to harass their "crazy maga uncle" during thanksgiving dinner. ♪ dear moms and dads, what you have achieved here today is going to help us and our futures. it is why we're coming up back. we hope you had a pleasant thanksgiving dinner because joe biden wanted it to be a total turkey brawl. the president calling on the country to come together during the macy's day parade. >> we have to come together. you know, we can have different political views but we have one view. the one view is we're the greatest nation in the world. we should focus on that we should focus on dealing with our problems and being together and stop the rancor. we have to bring the nation together and continue to have a little bit of decency. >> but then the biden campaign released a "handy guy" for responding to crazy maga nonsense during the holiday. if your uncle says the question was better during trump the biden campaign suggest you tell them they are wrong. jimmy, how was your thanksgiving dinner? >> solid. it's touch and go right now. joe biden, though, man, this guy, he's the guy who comes over to your table and says, excuse me, folks, this is a no smoking restaurants, lights a cigar, and walks away, because everything he does contradicts his actions. that booklet they are handing out for thanksgiving is a guide to being the worst thanksgiving guest in the history of the world. the guy who shows up armed for conflict who wants to get in a fight is an unbearable person but what are they catering to? intellectually lazy idiots. the truth is, most people aren't that divided on politics. my family agrees. i love these people. i couldn't get them out of my house. i was actually about to call the cops on myself to break up the thanksgiving party. after the third football game. i'm not take them out for political differences but this is what they cater to, maga. >> clearly they are trying to insert politics or maybe people want to take a break. this happens every year where these guides come out. for a guy who says he wants unity maybe it's not the best thing. >> as you listen to his thanksgiving message, we've heard all of that before when he ran in 2020. he was the guy who was going to bring everyone together, be the uniter and chief. his inauguration message was about treating all americans with respect regardless of what party you are, whoever you voted for. and yet we've seen over every year of his presidency, he's done exactly the opposite. he talked about bringing people together. he treats anyone who voted for donald trump or even those who disagreed, as whole different values as the enemy. uses our federal agencies to go after them. you talk about peace, world is on fire. we're on the brink of world war iii on multiple fronts, and yet he has the you a disty to tell us we haven't paid attention, and how disastrous it's been. ultimately, like you said, whether you have political differences in your family or not, thanksgiving is a time for people to actually come together, treat each other with respect, and save the political arguments for another day. for him to use this, to further divide people, is pru unconscionable. >> doctors, i was happy to sphered officials in years, we were not fear mongered away from spending time with our families because everything they are trying to do to keep us away from them because of covid so i guess we've shifted and taken the choice to argue with our family members rather than distance ourselves from them. >> we're not all going to agree. i love jimmy stanley, you guys get along, same politics. i wouldn't say that's for every household but for me, if someone wants to bring up politics or bring something up to me at least bring some facts with you and give a good representation of the situation, and not just, you know, some whatever makes you feel right. if you actually read what the biden camp put out for their talking points at the thanksgiving dinner, it's truly like a false equivalency, or just like a logical fallacy. looking at the crazy maga nonsense, when it comes to the economy essentially they are talking about it, hey, things were really bad last year. things are only bad this year. so we're doing great. but the bottom line is prices are still up. inflation adjusted, wages are still down. things are bad. they need to stop touting themselves. this little cheat sheet, that's all they have got. >> they are pushing conflict. like if you read -- if someone says happy thanksgiving you're supposed to say you're a racist. >> i'm kidding. >> it's in the guide actually. >> here it is. this is the funny thing. they know this. and that's why they put this out. my family, i know people think because i talk like this and come from a small town in georgia my family is probably a monolith of politics. but we have different orientations, different -- i've got people who own businesses in my family. the only thing they actually do agree on is that joe biden is a crappy president. >> thank you. >> they disagree on abortion and guns and teachers unions and all this other stuff but they agree on the fact that joe biden has done a terrible job. thanksgiving is a cakewalk this year, so will be christmas because they all just don't want to see him around anymore. >> thanksgiving is a time to be together and enjoy the food, which a lot of us did. grateful for that. a new york city leader is so upset over the spiraling migrant crisis he's no longer on speaking terms with joe biden. ♪ my dad believed in hard work, and the farm was the perfect place to
