usually an exploding rocket is seen as far from ideal, but the spacex philosophy is to go quick, fail often and learn fast. so now they'll work out what went wrong, then try again. rebecca morelle, bbc news. here in the uk — the number of people in bradford's pakistani community who have married a cousin has fallen sharply in the past ten years, according to a new study. ten years ago, researchers found that about 60% of babies in the northern english city's large pakistani population had parents who were first or second cousins, but new follow—up research of mothers finds the figure's dropped to 46%. our reporter anisa kadri in is the newsroom with more details. well, in their initial study, researchers suggested that cousin marriages doubles the risk of birth defects — affecting 6% of children born to cousins, and researchers from the born in bradford project say these health concerns are just one of the reasons for this fall in cousin marriages in bradford. so some of the other reasons being given — intergenerational tensions over this tradition. so some young people firmly rejecting the idea of arranged marriage when families are very much involved in choosing a partner and particularly rejecting the idea of cousin marriages. and the researchers talked about other possible reasons as well. staying in education longer is influencing young people's choices, and tougher immigration rules mean it's harder to bring a husband or wife over to the uk. so the study focused on three very specific places within bradford. it's a place where people from many different backgrounds live, but it does have a large pakistani community. in pakistan, i don't have any figures of how often cousin marriages are taking place there, but it is practiced more widely than here in the uk, and over there, when it takes place, it's seen to keep land in the family and cement family ties. and just behind me you can see an article on the bbc website looking at cousin marriages. in that article are anecdotes of people sharing their experiences. one woman saying that she had a cousin marriage in the 19805 and on her wedding day, that was the first time that she properly met her husband. she says her children won't be going down that route. and another person who had a cousin marriage talks about why, for them, they see it as a valuable tradition. so lots of thoughts and opinions on that bbc article, and you can listen to born in bradford on bbc sounds. the pop singer, taylor swift, says she's devastated by the death of a fan, before one of her shows, in brazil. reports suggest a 23—year—old woman suffered a cardiac arrest, as temperatures soared in the stadium, in rio dejaneiro. the government has now ordered drinking water be provided and easily accessible at concert venues. our reporter nicky schiller is in the newsroom with more. taylor swift is in rio for the latest stage of her record breaking errors tour. breaking eras tour. some 60,000 fans were in the stadium to watch the show. the organisers say that the 23—year—old fan became unwell at the stadium. some reports say that she fainted. she was taken to hospital but died. there is an investigation into the cause of her death. taylor, who was seen handing out water bottles to fans during the show, posted this handwritten note on social media. in it, she says... reached 16 degrees. still a lot of cloud around. mind you, at the moment, we still have an area of low pressure close by, threatening to bring some more rain a bit more, i suppose, more rain a bit more isobars on the chart in the south. it's likely to be a windier day here on sunday, maybe gales around some western and southern coast. and we're likely to find some rain from time to time blown across england and wales and northern ireland, a bit drier in the far north east of england and eastern scotland in particular with the best of any sunshine. it may be a bit milder on sunday in north eastern scotland. elsewhere, temperatures are healthy, 13—14 degrees. same area of low pressure still sitting over the uk and drifting southwards on monday. a tangle of weather fronts as well. it's just going to be a messy sort of day on monday. on the whole, it looks like there'll be a lot of cloud around the chance be a lot of cloud around, the chance of some further showers, maybe longer spells of rain. nothing particularly heavy, mind you. and temperatures on the whole around about 12 degrees. but there will be a cold, a stronger wind picking up in northern ireland and around some of these western coasts as well. it's going to be a northerly wind, too, and that may well drag in something a little bit coolerjust for a while. that northerly wind is around the edge of this area of high pressure that will tend to build across particularly southern areas over the rest of the week. and it means that there won't be much rain really through the rest of the week, but there may not be a great deal of sunshine either. and it looks like cloudy again. i think on tuesday most places will be dry, may start to see the cloud breaking later on across southern scotland and some central and eastern parts of england. but temperatures are going to be dropping a little bit across northern areas, typically around 8—9 degrees here. and that nose of high pressure will extend its way across the southern half of the uk and around the top of it, some stronger winds coming into scotland. some weather fronts may be bringing some rain and some milder air. things are going to be quite chilly, i think, through central and eastern parts of england early on wednesday morning. this is probably going to be the coldest night of the week ahead. we will see cloud, though, increasing from the north on wednesday. weather fronts across the far north of scotland, a bit of drizzle coming into western scotland. but away from here it may well be dry, but on the cloudy side and temperatures a bit lower across eastern areas of england. but we are going to be pushing back into mildura through wednesday, into milder air through wednesday, thursday, maybe into friday as well. you can see the colder air to the north of shetland, the boundary between the colder air to the north of us and the milder air that we're in is that weather front there and that will focus most of the rain really. and you can see it's in the far north of mainland scotland, maybe a little drizzle coming into hills of western scotland again in that stronger westerly wind. but it is a westerly wind that will bring in more cloud, keep most places dry. best of sunshine in eastern england, temperatures reaching 13 degrees. so very mild to end thursday and perhaps to start friday. there is a weak weather front to move down from the northwest later on friday that will introduce cooler air for the start of the weekend, perhaps more of a north westerly wind. that may not last too long, mind you, because high pressure then starts to build up from the southwest. will we change the wind direction once again, maybe bringing some rain into more northwestern areas of the uk, but we're going to find a southerly wind and that
