[sound of gunfire] >> u.s. embassy in lebanon tells americans to evacuate as the fighting between hezbollah fighters and israeli forces ramps up on israel's northern border. good evening i'm jon scott and this is a special two-hour edition of the "fox report." ♪ ♪ jon: we have team coverage for you this evening alexandria huff following president biden's response in beach delaware steve hagan on the ground in northern israel and congressman andy biggs joins us on the latest developments in the ongoing conflict. but first alex hogan joins us from tel-aviv with the latest on israel's push into the gaza strip. alex. reporter: as israeli forces push forward in to northern gaza idf says in last several hours it managed to take out a hamas control center outpost as well as targeting some of those underground tunnels it's about a week since we saw a multibranch effort really ramp up today we saw the head of israel's general staff meeting with other demanders and he congratulated his troops on efforts underway to dismantle hamas urging them to keep up their spirits. hamas releasing this footage of what appears to be their fighters in that intricate system of underground tunnels. you can hear the group chanting in arabic god is great and killed our leaders and children and as idf encircles gaza conditions for civilians who have not fled there becomes more dire lack of food, water, and inadequate hospitals and now qatar foreign ministry is arguing today that israeli attacks on gaza will only complicate their efforts to mediate release of hostages. now, back here in tel-aviv, massive protest broke out today residents who are furious with the lack of progress at the hands of the government to bring these hostages home. among them, was one woman whose mother a 72-year-old woman was taken from her area one of the small villages near the border with gaza. >> more than one hundred people are killed or kidnapped and here today to shout to arab government -- for all of the world bring them back today. right now hamas is claiming tonight that 60 of those 242 hostage have gone missing in the wake of israeli air strikes, of course, that again is according to hamas. no verifiable numbers on that just yet we have still yet to hear an official comment from israeli officials here. jon. expwhron still waiting goes on for families of those hostages and it has to be an agonizing time for them alex. reporter: it is, and i talk with one family whose sister was taken this woman she says she's hopeful after seeing a soldier released just in the last several days that could mean hope for her family. but with thousands of people gathering in the streets again tonight in tel-aviv there's definitely that sense of anger, demanding from the government putting on as much pressure as they possibly can, not only urging for negotiations, but also urging for the release of these hostages if necessary by force. jon. jon: alex hogan reporting live from southern israel. alex, thank you. meanwhile in lebanon leader of iran backed hezbollah hassan stops short of a wide cob applicant and yesterday warned that escalation is still a possibility if the situation in gaza gets worse. chief international correspondent steve harrigan live in northern israel with a look at that. steve. reporter: u.s. embassy in beirut is issuing yet another qarng for american citizens to leave lebanon immediately this is at least the fourth time that americans have been warned to leave due to fears of a wider war breaking out. so the emergency warnings keep getting more and more dire. there's roughly about 80,000 americans inside of lebanon. and across border fighting has gone on back and forth across this border from lebanon hezbollah fighters firing into northern israel for about the past three weeks. and many thousands of israelis have actually left the scene here left their homes and some parents say their children have been traumatized by what they've been through. >> they always ask questions. where the hamas is going to our home, or we are going to evacuate again in another city. it is not good for everybody. >> now so far much of the fighting back and forth has been localized contained to just about two miles around the border area about 60 hezbollah fighters killed in the past three weeks. but so far hezbollah relying on shorter range missiles, but their leader hassan nasrallah said all options on table including major escalation. jon back to you. jon: all right steve harrigan live near the israel lebanon border, steve, thank you. president biden is spending weekend in delaware as his administration scrambling to stop the war from expanding. alexandria huff live in the beach, delaware, alex. reporter: hi jon we do know that today president biden received as briefing from national security advisor jake sullivan also from antony blinken right now is wrapping up a day spent in jordan and the focus of this most recent trip to the middle east is trying to find any way they can to try to ease civilian suffering and avoid that escalation of tensions that you were talking about. also, defend the american, administration position that humanitarian pause in gaza to allow for aid to get in is not the same as a cease-fire. >> now united states believes that all of these efforts -- would be facilitated by humanitarian pauses. we believe pauses can be a critical mechanism for protecting civilians, for getting aid in, for getting foreign nationals out. while stiling enabling israel to achieve octave to defeat hamas. >> u.s. allied arab states use this meeting today to push an immediate cease-fire blinken said that would only allow to repeat october 7th attacks which is essentially why israeli prime minister netanyahu has rejected u.s. calling for humanitarian pause in gaza. he feels it would only benefit hamas and that hostages they have to be released first, president biden yesterday was asked about getting americans out of gaza. >> your message to americans -- white house confirm that 400 people very giving clearance to leave and mideast war becoming uncontained for a poll from quinnipiac university shows 43% are very concerned about united states being drawn into a military conflict 41% are somewhat concerned and jon just 6% say that they are not concerned at all we have not heard from the president yet today. we do know he'll be exiting church in a short time. jon. jon: alexandria huff with the president in delaware, alex, thanks. for more on all of this let's bring in arizona republican congressman, andy biggs, congressman biggs what do you think of the idea of a -- a pause in the fighting humanitarian pause as the white house puts it. so that civilians can be evacuated and aid brought in. >> i think that's a big mistake, and here's why. hamas then can retool and re-up. in order to get a pause, they have to release the hostages first. that is the strategy that should be employed. the second thing i'll tell you is that biden administration should not continue to give what they're calling humanitarian aid to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars to gaza when actually that will be funneled into hamas coughers allow them to continue to proliferate and maybe even expand their -- their efforts to obliterate israel. make no mistake that is the goal of hamas. that's the goal of hezbollah and that's the goal of many palestinians thus to give a pause when you actually have the enemy on the run, seems like a fool hardy strategy if you ask me. jon: democrats in congress seem divided with the left wing especially supporting the palestinians. is that putting pressure on biden on president biden to perhaps reduce or put pressure reduce his support for or put pressure on israel? >> i think it causes him to have even more conflict in how he's going to approach his policy. mind you, jon i think he has a feckless weak foreign policy and even with israel it is very weak. but having -- you actually have people in the united states congress today who join with the palestinian folk who is say, you know, we're going take everything to the sea from the river to the sea. that means that they want to obliterate israel. and he's trying to play i suppose both wings. but he cannot do that you cannot recognize israel as an important friend and ally at the same time that you're going to fund and give, you know, respite to the enemy to israel who wants to actually obliterate israel. so i think it is causing him some problems. but that is because he's had a feckless foreign policy from day one, jon. jon: how would you rate the performance of the secretary of state antony blinken he's doing some shuttle diplomacy over there as you know? >> yeah. i'm going to have to be frank i'm giving him an f minus i don't know how you can get any worse than antony blinken at the same time he's been terrible in this conflict in my opinion. and he's been basically advocating a -- a aka seesed fire by calling pause and not doing what's necessary to advocate and get hostages out of there and at the same time allowed bad guys around the world to actually get stronger and become more bellicose and more dangerous to the united states and our friends and our interests. jon: the speaker of the house the new speaker of the house speak or johnson managed to get that aid package for israel through the house. now what happens in the senate? >> well, it's a good package. and jon, if anyone can ever predict what's going to happen in senate then they should go one of those 800 numbers or something like that make some money i'm not sure what the senate is going to do. but i know this, it was something very different in the house for the house to actually say we're going give this supplemental here and we're going actually pay for it. jon in the past, every supplemental i've ever seen has had no pay force but just said we're going gi them money, and we don't know how we're going pay for it but add to national debt. this was a responsible, adult mature way to provide israel with what it needs right now to fight a very dangerous foe, and at the same time protect the interest of america. so we'll see what the senate does, i hope that they get on it and go right away with this bill. it is a good bill. jon: meantime, there are questions about ukraine funding and, you know, border protection funding as well. where do we stand on that, congressman? >> well the president can't see want to lump everything together in a massive funding bill north of the a hundred billion dollars. the problem -- that we've seen with let's just take border jon -- on the border funding, you can give as much money as you want to the border right now. but this administration is not interested in actually enforcing laws we have nor giving the new border security laws that we've enacted out of the house or passed out of the house enacted enforced. so to give him more money what you're going to really do is facilitate distribution of more people coming in here illegally throughout the united states in a more efficient and quite frankly more dangerous manner. and they want to combine that with ukraine funding basically whole year of ukraine funding at the same time that we're finding out what we've known all along that ukraine continues to -- lose money, lose material -- and that gets embezzled. so where i would say we are jon is -- you've got a lot of people like myself who don't want to give money to ukraine and at the same time, you've got to take care of the border and use something as leverage to get this administration to finally start enforcing the law. jon: we're going to be having more on the border later on this hour. congressman andy biggs republican of arizona, thank you. >> thanks, jon. jon: and coming up from across the political aisle, ohio democratic congressman greg lanceman will tell us why he had to take action after
