this is "the ingraham angle" from nashville tonight. biden's weekend. that's the focus of tonight's angle. >> laura: all right, the press hopes that the past few days will make you forget just how much money you've lost from bidenflation from the high food and gas prices and forget how much of the country we have lost from the open border. and, instead, the media want you to be impressed that joe biden could walk and talk with president xi. >> he's the most effective foreign policy leader since 41, bush 41. he is managing conflicts extreme -- extraordinarily. he has great team around him. >> this is a big deal the two men spent a lot of time together. kind of went for a walk. reminds me of reagan and reykjavik and gorbachev. >> most important thing accomplished was simply the two men spoke. in a room trying to reset relations. >> were they watching the same summit as the rest of us? >> um, i'm embarrassed. i think it's cbs but i can't remember who with cbs. i'm sorry. uh -- ♪ ♪ >> all right. you have heard at weekend at bernie's? this was weekdays with biden. the man was totally muddled and, of course, his big donors, all those corporate titans like tim cook, prostrating themselves before their dear communist leader. they came across as clueless as biden themself. >> like many others in this room i believe that a strong and prosperous china that supports and invests in the international system could to be a force for good in the world. the u.s. business community strongly supports productive government-to-government dialogue and progress in the relationship. we firmly believe that continued economic growth in the united states and china is essential to global stability. >> laura: global stability? now, where exactly has china been a force for global stability? let me think. taiwan? ukraine? oh, dealing with hamas? this is just a bad joke at this point. the fact is big business long ago stopped being about american jobs and american manufacturing. they claim to care about a lot of social justice issues. but that really only applies to when left wing groups are criticizing the united states about things like race, like after the floyd riots or climate change all the time. this was the pro-china trade "wall street journal's" take on the matter. mr. xi received a standing ovation for taking the stage before he said a word. and then the hollowness of mr. xi's remarks under scores how no one can claim they attended to learn more about the opaque intentions of the leader of the world's second largest economy. ouch. as for biden's own commerce secretary who i have to say already dimmest bulbs in low wattage cabinet. she obviously thinks biden's global appeal is going to help him for a national u.s. appeal in 2024. >> a world requires us to manage this relationship responsibly. and to deliver on transnational challenges like climate change and global health that effect people around the world. >> laura: now, republicans should just hope that gina keeps speaking out, keeps making the case because she is totally out of touch with the concerns of regular americans. oh, by the way, and speaking of concern, well, biden's secretary of state, look at tony blinken, because he seemed very concerned whenever biden was left to speak on his own, move on his own during those days in san francisco, check out the look on his face when biden answered a rather uncomfortable question. >> mr. president, after today do you feel the word president xi dictator term you used earlier this year. >> look, he is in the sense that he is a guy who runs a country that is communist country that. >> look at the facial expression as the president was being shoed out of the meeting room earlier that day. biden is not -- look, blinken is not a complete buffoon because he knows that two thirds of the country are now saying america is on the wrong track as a nation. and is he probably thinking to himself, how is putting biden across the table from xi going to help matters in that regard? in that poll taken before the summit has trump up 4% nationally on the very experienced joe biden. and a brand new "the washington post" monmouth survey just came out shows support for trump's populist, not globalist, america first approach to both domestic and foreign policy is growing. because america, look, they look and they see what is happening around the world. the more money we spend, the worse things seem to get. they are souring on biden pet proxy war in ukraine. 51% of primary voters in new hampshire say we should not keep sending military aid. and as for the most important issues? illegal immigration top the list now with 25% saying it's the most important, followed by inflation, and rising prices at 20%. and then the justice department being used for political purposes. at 10%. well, nothing this week is going to change the public's overall view that biden is just in over his head on the world stage. 46 percent said they trust trump more in dealing with china compared to only 34% who trust biden more. the american people, i think, have caught on. again, they're looking around. they see the body language. they see it all. so they have caught on to biden's globalist charade. and, if anything, i think the summit is only going to solidify that position. americans who believe we should remain a free and independent country will view the xi-biden summit as not a strong start to a new beginning, but a weak end to an already hobbled u.s. position on the global stage and the biden presidency. and that's the angle. joining me now is nate than sales, former ambassador at large and counter terror coordinator under trump and kristen whiton a former trump state department senior adviser, senior fellow at the center for national interest. christian, let's start with you. the media are really trying to sell this as some, you know, some residual benefit for joe biden after the dust settles on the summit. >> no, i don't think so. i mean, if you go back to the reason he won in spotlight. the more people see him, the more people see his cognitive decline, the more people see he looks like a junior partner to xi jinping and really just came out of this summit with nothing. i mean, we have this fake agreement on fentanyl. i'll believe that when i see it. i don't think the chinese are going to change their conduct at all. we also agreed to limit the use of artificial intelligence and military applications. that hurts us. that hurts the united states. that's an area where we could actually get an edge on china and get ahead of their very large military build-up. but he gave this away and got very little -- got really nothing in return. >> laura: now, nathan, the economists is out with a delusional piece today that was titled donald trump poses the big danger to the world in 2024. they are arguing that the greatest threat mr. trump poses to his own country and china and its friends would rejoice over the evidence that american democracy is dysfunctional. nathan, here you have trillions of dollars in corporate wealth gathered to prostrate themselves at the feet of a communist dictator and the communist is saying trump is the problem? trump is anti-democratic? >> i mean, laura, it's deranged. look around the world. the world is on fire. russia has invaded ukraine in a war of aggression, that seems to me to be a pretty big threat to the united states and the world order. china is hungrily eyeing taiwan across the strait. xi jinping is going to use military force if he can. he has told the people liberation army be ready by 2027. and this is what the economist is worried about? what about iran which just launched a huge war on israel using terror proxy hamas? and is launching, i think, over 60 rocket attacks through proxies on american forces across the middle east? where is that in the conversation? i think, you know, the economist has just lost its mind if it looks at the world and thinks that the united states is the major problem here. >> well, christian, the interesting thing in this monmouth survey, again, it just came out. is that foreign policy is way down on the list of concerns, including, you know, ukraine and there is some more concern for hamas. but, not much. it still is our border, our economy, crime is even actually fairly low in this new survey, which i found interesting. but it's really the economy and the border are the dominant issues which, again, explains trump's enduring appeal in a state like new hampshire that's kind of a quirky state for republicans but trump is up, i think, almost 40 points over nikki haley. >> right. i think -- right. well, foreign policy being low, i think part of that is explained by the washington mono party. trump and desantis have differed from the status quo, from the establishment on ukraine. but you still have both parties in congress itching to spend billions more. now, the new speaker of the house separated aide to israel from aid to ukraine. guaranteed by the end of december, certainly by the end of january, these people will have sent billions more of our dollars to a stalemate in ukraine after an acounteroffensive that has failed foreign policy hasn't been on the agenda and i think won't be until trump or desantis put it there. but, economically, yeah, i mean no matter how much they tout bidenomics. people understand they have lost 25% of their purchasing power, 25% of your savings. 25% of your ability to buy something, whether it's a house or a hamburger has been taken away by joe biden. that's what the problem is go to deflation not coming back. >> laura: even the "new york times" had to admit that that biden's biggest enemy out there, it's not -- it's not the anti-democracy forces in the united states, it's the lowered buying power of americans because sustained inflationary pressures. jennifer palmieri how joe biden can run strong next year. watch. >> he could run on the american military being the strongest in the world. american leadership being restored. the american economy rebounding from covid, and democracy, while constantly under threat, more people are voting. president biden can do. this it's not just bidenomics. >> nathan, did biden succeed on anything that she just mentioned there? these are three rulings now that have tossed aside at least for now the 1st amendment argument that the left was saying was their ticket to keeping trump off the ballot. tell us what this means. >> well, i think this biased denver district court judge out here blinked. because i was certain sitting through the trial the week long trial that she was going to rule against president trump. but i think that she saw the political backlash. she saw the three other courts in three different states ruled against this democrat theory to try to toss president trump off the ballot. impeached him twice and indicted him four times. to illegal gag orders. tried to bankrupt him with a bogus civil fraud lawsuit. that only helped president trump with the polls. this was their legal hail mary to take trump off the ballot and now they are 0 for 3. >> laura: this is district judge sarah wallace. the third ruling as i said in just a little over a week. these lawsuits were filed by a left leaning group that included a bunch of never trumpers, democrats and so forth. here is a key quote from the judge's ruling. she said to be clear part of the court's decision is its reluctance to embrace and interpretation which would disqualify a presidential candidate without a clear, unmistakable indication that such is the intent of section 3, the section 3 of the -- section 3 # i believe in the constitutional argument of the 14th amendment; is that correct, mike? that is correct and this judge came back from the break. we could not get anything worse for our country to simply take the leading presidential candidate off the ballot based upon a bogus, partisan legal theory that the democrats are pedaling here. the only way to disqualify an office holder under section 3 of the constitution, according to case law on the books for 150 years is to bring federal criminal charges for insurrection or rebellion, have a jury unanimously find him guilty with evidence beyond a reasonable doubt. the district judge has to convict and it has to be upheld on the field. that's the only route. there is no chance that president trump was involved with an insurrection on january 6th. it was a lawful protest permitted by the national park service that got out of control and turned into a right. >> laura: everyone should understand the minnesota supreme court ruling on that, that was just last week do he could remain ballot. where weather he aappears. and the michigan judge who ruled on this said that conscious is the proper forum for deciding whether section 3 of the 1st amendment applied. three different judges, three different parts of the country. mike, i now want to bring in an attorney who defended trump in this former colorado secretary of state scott god guess ler. it was ironic all these individuals who were out there calling trump a force against democracy this is dangerous, tyrannical impulses of donald trump. yet, this is precisely what this radical interpretation of section 3, article of the 1st amendment, the constitution would have done by ripping him off the ballot. it's stunning to me. >> that's exactly the case. unfortunately, this judge allowed them to go through a full five day hearing and a lot further in the process than this should have ever gone. but, ultimately, she made the right decision. and that decision is that the people of the united states, we're the unones who get to choose who our president is going it be. not the courts this whole series of cases relies on unusual theories from a law that hasn't been enforced in probably over 100 years. it was a desperate attempt to really prevent people from being able to vote for the person they want. >> laura: mike, i have said this time and again and it's worth repeating tonight is that the only way the left will stop, if they are stopped -- if they are stopped by either being, you know, a judge's ruling, and it has to be emphatic ruling or a sweeping electoral victory by americans who just say, you know, enough of this. this isn't even common sense. forget being a constitutional scholar. this makes no sense. but, you know, judges, one after another, have come in and said cannot do this. >> yeah. i mean, i would say this is going to be a tactical retreat by the democrats, like you said, laura, they play for keeps. they will do whatever it takes to win. if you thought the 2020 was bad with blm riots, brace ourselves for what they have in store in 2024 with their hamas and blm supports. >> laura: when we look at this -- the way this was cased as being argued and, look, they are going to not stop, so you argue this case and you win in colorado, but what's the next hill that has to be climbed for president trump? the former state secretary? >> well, from a legal standpoint, i think colorado was probably their best chance. i think this is their high water mark. i'm sure they will try appealing it to the colorado supreme court. i don't think they will have any more luck there than they have had anywhere else across the country. i'm guessing they will probably start cooking up a new legal theory that we haven't -- no one has thought of yet because it's so far out to the left wing and no one will think of it. this, i think, i hope, is their high water mark. >> laura: scott, were you surprised, if you saw it, in this new, i believe this was -- no, sorry, yeah, this is the "the washington post" monmouth poll, that shows that republican primary voters in new hampshire, the third -- i think it's the third most important issue for them is the justice department's unfair application of the law. it was open border. it was inflation, high prices, and i think that came in either third or fourth, ahead of crime. what does that tell you about what republican primary voters are seeing? and that's, again, the quirky state of new hampshire. >> yeah. i think people are really concerned about fundamental fairness in country. and, you know, we even saw this in colorado where the secretary of state, the current secretary of state here, instead of sort of being neutral and an honest broker, as soon as this complaint was filed, she came out and accused of president trump of all kinds of things, it was pretty clear she was biased from the start. so, i think people are really concerned about the weaponization of the department of justice, of a lot of our public officials. you know, particularly ones who, you know, just hate president trump. they want to do everything they can to stop him and they're using the law rather than the democratic processes. >> laura: mike, nothing is worse than that judge engoron. i think that case in new york, the law clerk, the judge, the smirking for the cameras, letitia james, of all the cases, do you think that is, perhaps, the worst and the most obviously biased, mike? >> i mean, they are blatantly biased the problem is he is clearly going to rule against trump and bankrupt. thank god we had a complaint against biased manhattan judg
