>> happy thanksgiving to you, griff, and to our viewing audience out here in the country and the world. >> griff: you can't get around the heightened alert and heard countless officials in the administration to include f.b.i. that the events in israel could add to events at home. you heard alexis talking about the heightened security in new york at the macy's day parade and all on pins and needles yesterday the horrific situation at the border. no nexus is terrorism but a stark reminder indeed of how much precaution we should be taking. how does law enforcement reassure americans that we'll be okay? just go about your daily lives? >> well, you know, griff, as you know, i grew up in lake charles, louisiana, and it was at a time like during this time of the year where you would be getting ready for the festiveness of the holidays. and here we are now under siege looking out for our brothers and sisters because of terrorist acts. i have to tell you, law enforcement need the help of the citizens. they can't do it alone. they have to have the eyes and ears of citizens. if you see something out there, you must say something. you must talk to law enforcement officers. we have intelligence units in the various law enforcement agencies and those are working around the year to try to keep us safe. but the only people who are going to keep us most safely is us ourselves. >> griff: ted, u.s. intelligence analysts are saying that they've seen no indication of hamas calling for attacks in the u.s. or that there is anything specific threat out there. however, how concerned are you that the events of the israel-hamas war may motivate a lone wolf? >> i'm deeply concerned. you know, we have home-grown terrorists and we don't know who those terrorists are. as the attacks in the middle east there on israel, they were not expecting it. they had let their guards down, unfortunately, in the middle east and they were attacked by hamas. in this country, we cannot afford to let our guards down. while we are sleeping, there are terrorist cells in this country that are waiting for instructions to harm and hurt us. so we have to continue to be very vigilant in this country. there are people -- people that we see on a daily basis, that are unfortunately terrorists that are willing and ready and prepared to bring havoc on this country. so what i'm saying again, griff, is we must partner with law enforcement and we must be the ears and the eyes of law enforcement. we must help them to help ourselves. >> griff: ted, you know, while the entire country is on heightened alert for a potential terror attack, the jewish and muslim communities are under intense scrutiny with threats to their communities if only even verbal, we see it on a daily basis and it is too much. thank you for taking time and happy thanksgiving. >> happy thanksgiving again to you, griff. >> julie: fox news alert. in just under 24 hours from now the first hostages will be released. you are looking at smoke rising in gaza. the troop begins at midnight. that was set up, they laid out the plan of how they plan on releasing 50 hostages beginning at 9:00 a.m. eastern time tomorrow. the first 13 hostages they will be women and children will be released over the course of a four-day period. appointed officials are checking the details of the list right now and whose names are on that list. they are going to get into contact with all the families at this moment but one of the reasons for the release and for the delay of the release is because israel wanted to confirm the names on the list and who they are so that they indeed are going to get their end of the bargain. part of this swap is essentially getting 50 hostages released from gaza out of hamas's hands and into the hands of their families. the red cross will be awaiting their evacuation into egypt and in exchange 150 palestinian prisoners will be released. again, this truce takes place at midnight. hostage release begins at 9:00 a.m. eastern and last four days and beginning with 13 women and children starting tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. of course as the news breaks we'll bring it to you from the middle east. the biden administration thinks americans should be thankful for lower inflation. have you noticed lower inflation? costs are down for some thanksgiving staples in many families are struggling with higher prices is what i think. lucas tomlinson is live in nantucket, massachusetts. i'm jealous about your assignment today. it's my favorite place on earth. >> i don't blame you for saying that. it's great. happy thanksgiving traveling with president biden. while the rate of increase of inflation has slowed, food prices have not gone down. our most important commodity next to fossil fuels. have some local news to share with you here on nantucket, island. last night a fire alarm went off at president biden's home where he is staying, the $34 million home. we are told it was a false alarm. the fire brigade deployed. trucks rolled out but didn't quite reach the biden compound. perhaps that's one of the reasons why president biden, when he was speaking earlier, thanked local responders. >> president biden: today is about coming together, giving thanks to this country we call home and thanks to all the firefighters, police officers, first responders and troops. some of whom are stationed abroad. i have never been more optimistic. >> president biden says he is grateful for lower prices, folks, no matter where you are heading this holiday season are heading there for less. gas is down, airfare is down and car prices are down 10% and not done taking action to get the prices down everywhere. let's look at the stat on the gas prices. they might have gone down recently. compared to the day president biden took office gas prices are still up 37%. here is the inflation chart. the rate of inflation has gone down. the rate of increase has gone down, it is still above the 2% target rate. the high prices from a year ago still feel locked in. everyone handed a receipt knows over the past two years. switching gears the war against hamas, president biden is hopeful the 50 hostages, all women and children, will be released beginning tomorrow. that's the expectation. white house spokesman john kirby tells me this deal could still fall apart. >> we'll be watching this like a hawk. the devil is in the details and the execution. so we'll be watching to see that all sides meet their commitments and we know and recognize that one party to this agreement is a terrorist organization. a terrorist organization that hasn't always abided by the commitments that they have made. >> the white house says in president's call with benjamin netanyahu he stressed maintaining calm along the border with lebanon. today hezbollah has fired over 50 rockets into israel. the most since the october 7th massacre. also the u.s.s. missile destroyer shot down a number of drones fired by the iranian backed groups in yemen. the attacks against american forces has not slowed despite the air strikes against them recently. now on a much lighter note, julie, i hate to break it to the good people of massachusetts and the people of nantucket but the first thanksgiving was not in massachusetts. it was in virginia. julie. >> julie: they just go there after. that must be nice. i'm jealous. i have my nantucket necklace on. >> griff: i can't afford to go there. i went to the grocery store and got beat up. i was talking about it with a long time democrat strategist in this town and he says it's costing more. i was looking up the president's menu and i think they will need to add some pep sid a.c. to the list there. it says the biden family will have three types of pie, apple, coconut cream and pumpkin as well as his favorite flavor of ice cream, chocolate chip. so if he gets through the turkey, stuffing and gravy, he will have a big plate of desserts. >> julie: what is your favorite pie? i think pie that's like the debate. it can split up a family. what is your favorite pie? >> griff: it can. i did the shopping two days ago is pumpkin. that's the only one that no one fights over. >> julie: i was hoping you wouldn't see peach cobbler or something weird like that. >> griff: i will confess. one year we had four total pies. everyone thought that it was their job to bring a pie and everyone brought a pie. >> julie: nothing wrong with having leftover pie. you must eat the left over pies, absolutely. i'm with you on the pumpkin, too, absolutely. fox news alert. qatar's foreign minister giving an update in the last hour on the delayed deal to free 50 israeli hostages. we'll bring you more on when we expect the first group of women and children to be reunited with their families and when that pause in the fighting is set to begin. >> the first batch of civilians to be released from hamas will be 4:00 p.m. the same day. 13 in number, all women and children. ustomized my car insurance and i saved hundreds. with the money i saved, i started a dog walking business. oh. >> have delicate. how it will be implemented and what is a red line on both sides in terms of military action. hamas doesn't have direct communication with all their fighters especially those in tunnels in the northern part of gaza. israelis are engaged in block to block and street to street battles over the past several weeks. if any of those units ambush israeli troops, it could all collapse the deal. very delicate. you can expect the qatarys to oversee and implement the deal. >> griff: happy thanksgiving and stay safe. julie. >> julie: let's bring in adam scott bellows of the israel innovation. thank you very much for talking to us. first of all, let's talk about the delay. this was initially supposed to start yesterday and i do believe that israel wanted a list of names that they could cross check with their family members. is that among the reasons why it was delayed? >> hi, julie, thanks for having me and happy thanksgiving. it actually is one of the main reasons why the deal was delayed in addition to the fact that hamas was demanding that the israeli army stop the moving of heavy artillery and large weapons like tanks. and that was something unacceptable to not only the israeli army but the israeli government given our position at this time. so that did cause a major delay. also not knowing exactly who hamas would be releasing at this time given the fact that most deals that have been cut between hamas and israeli government only one side has usually broke them that being hamas. >> julie: there is, of course, concern in any cease-fire especially when it's a bargain with terrorists that hamas could use the four-day period to gain ground on the war. how is israel handling that? obviously they'll cease-fire and there will be a truce for four days. we will not see any rockets being fired at each other at least in the air. what's happening underground could be an entirely different story. >> i would actually completely agree with you on that. what's happening underground is a completely different story versus what's happening in the air. and obviously the israeli government would never have agreed to this deal if it would put any more troops in danger or put the israeli military position in danger. you have to remember, this deal has been accepted with angst. the israeli public is somewhat split on this opinion. while we very much want every single hostage to come home as soon as possible, we do not want to disrupt or walk back the progress that we've made over the last 40 plus days in our military campaign in gaza. so the only reason why this deal would have been accepted by the israelis it would put us in a position to regroup and allow hostages to be released safely without compromising our military campaign at this time. i think it is also very important to note that we have eyes on the ground and eyes in the sky to be able to monitor everything that's going on on the ground at this time. >> julie: i know israel definitely was reluctant to a deal like this but a lot of international pressure. the united states at the forefront and france and china to bring in aid. the exchange of prisoners for the exchange of hostages is such an unbalanced number and the forefront of the minds of israelis. why do we get 150 palestinian prisoners for the release of just 50 hostages? seems like an unfair number. if i was the family member of a hostage of somebody being held hostage i would think why? why do they get 150 palestinian prisoners for only 50 hostages? >> i actually completely agree with you there. the math is not mapping. that's for sure. i want to go back to what you said earlier. i don't actually think the international pressure had anything to do with the accepting of this cease-fire. that's really important to note. we have seen over the last couple weeks how international community has forgotten the terrible, barbaric massacre of october 7th. as a result of that the israeli public has seen the modern anti-semitism like it was in the 1920s and 30s and seen how quickly people have been able to forget. we always say never again. now the saying is never again is now. and it is a very disappointing thing to see not only the
