FOXNEWS Fox Report With Jon Scott July 2, 2024

another fundraiser in new jersey. president trump -- president biden i should say is struggling to reassure donors with series of east coast rallies and fundraisers. former president trump is stepping up his ground game. good evening, i am jon scott and this is the fox report. ♪ fox team coverage starts now, christina coleman following reports democrats might be setting up a replacement for joe biden. joe concha with more reaction and where the former president is zeroing in on a running mate but first, live to meddling rivera at the white house. you can't run on presidential campaign without raising money so how are the top donors reacting to president biden's debate performance? the mark donors are nervous and the president knows that, he told donors one of his fundraisers earlier this afternoon, i understand the concern about the debate, i get it. i didn't have a great night but neither did trump. i believe the nation is decent adding donald trump with the destroyed democracy, i will defend it. former president trump live throughout the debate, to be clear the president was fact checked like on his claim no troop members died under his leadership. thirteenth out of the airport in afghanistan august of 2021 and three service members died in a drone attack in january. today the biden campaign is focusing on a reset, touting $47 million fundraising call between thursday and friday nights and aides insist they are not having conversations about replacing the president at the top of the democratic ticket. >> the conversation we had is what we do next? if it's one thing we are about it's okay, barack obama said debate happen, a bad debate, what we do next? the president above all is focused on what we do next what do i need to do? i think you saw north carolina, he knew exactly what he needed to do yesterday. >> regardless, the flow of negative headlines for the president keeps on coming. this from the new york times editorial board which called on the president lead in the race, they say the president's performance cannot be written off as a bad night or blamed on suppose it whole because concerns mounting for months or even years campaign cochair richmond responding last time joe biden lost the editorial boards endorsement and turned out well for him. the board endorsed senators amy klobuchar and elizabeth warren in 2020 democratic presidential primary. >> if democrats want to replace at the top of the ticket, how could they do that next. >> not an impossible situation, a window of time for democrats to place president biden but the process is risky, messy, complicated and end of the day president biden is the one who has to decide whether to lead and release the pledge to him, something people have around him said he has no intentions of doing at this time. >> he doesn't seemed like he wants to get out of this race. meddling rivera, thanks. >> despite president biden's insistence is still fit for the job, some reportedly are pushing for a replacement should he choose to step aside. critics and supporters of the president have a slew of names, some high-profile and some not so much you might take reins before the parties nominating convention in august. casino coleman takes a look at the possibilities. >> that's right, after president biden's wealth debate thursday night, media outlets and analysts said it's time for biden to step aside and asked for possible replacement. several names have been floating around a lot including california governor gavin newsom even the republicans can slam him with high taxes, homelessness in this state. democratic government does not shy away from the cameras or make national headlines. some political analysts believe he's running a shadow campaign. he's been making presidential moves for months visiting israel shortly after hamas is october 7 attacks making a trip to china to discuss climate initiatives and ran abortion rights ads and republican controlled state and head-to-head with former gop presidential contender government ron desantis in a debate moderated by sean hannity here on fox last year. he was at the presidential debate thursday after biden's rough performance he was asked about replacing the president. here was his response. >> would you be willing -- >> never turn my back on him. i said reconsider. i never turn my back. >> he says he doesn't know a democrat who would do that. that might be true for now but hasn't stopped plenty of analysts floating names as possible names for possible replacement. he swing state that is critical for democrats for the second term governor who helped with both chambers of the state legislature blue with her fight for abortion rights, a key issue among democrats this election season. we can't go without mentioning michelle obama and vice president kamala harris, both are popular among democrats. the washington post concluded them in a list of potential biden replacement in addition to democrat josh shapiro went a solid victory for governorship in 2022 in pennsylvania, purple state which is critical for the democrats hopes of winning the white house this november. >> it would seem the number two, vice president kamala harris would be the easiest democrat to plug in as his top candidate. how would she do in a potential match of against trump? >> political analysts say it would be risky to have her challenge trump in the white house. it would be easy for her to call upon us to watch criticism against her task to be border czar under this administration as we all know and can see border is so amiss. critics say they are not sure what major things she's done in her role as vp and a recent survey university shows disapproval ratings outpace her approval ratings by about 15% but some political analysts so how, short list for possible biden replacement he were to step out of the race so we shall see. >> it would seem to be a problem to passover the number two but we'll see what happens. interesting between now and november. christina coleman reporting from los angeles, thank you. >> ran big because of charlottesville, he ran because it was his last chance, he's not equipped to be president. generally six, the lowest taxes ever. the lowest regulations over. january 6 we were respected all over the world. then he comes in and we are now locked up, a bunch of stupid people and he's taking back jobs and he can't do that. he said he inherited 9% inflation. no, almost no inflation. i was getting out of afghanistan the getting out with dignity, strengths, power. he got out and it was the most embarrassing they in the history of our country's life. >> former president trump pulling no punches thursday night while president biden floundered some. for more, fox news contributor joe concha, president biden is saying he will not drop out of this race even though he's being exhorted to buy a number of media outlets including the new york times. does it surprise you he's so strong-willed about staying in. >> when you think about it, he would have to be, if he does step aside, look at this debate and show that is a reason why. we've never had a sitting president leave because he was told to by his own party. lyndon johnson, he chose not to seek reelection because of his own volition, vietnam and health problems. with biden, the first time a sitting president was asked to leave by his own party and i don't know if he wants that legacy is a guy who beat donald trump in 2020 and three and a half years later steps aside because told to so i don't think he's going anywhere this time and that's his decision to make but based on what we saw on that debate stage thursday night, here's the state of the race right now. this was an earthquake that has consequences if joe biden stays in. we are looking at ten to 15-point victory for donald trump nationally. donald trump leads and every swing state before the debate north carolina, georgia, arizona, nevada, wisconsin, michigan, pennsylvania. afterwards, think that the polls are going to be even worse for joe biden and to expand the map, trump is leading in new jersey right now, a poll that came out yesterday tied in minnesota. regina, new hampshire, maine and a landslide and also by the way, if that happens, we are looking at a senate 55, 56 seats for republicans and records show 20 feet could be gained by the gop if biden stands and stays in the race so couple that with the supreme court currently is six -- three in terms of conservative judges and you're looking at the democratic party that will be completely utterly powerless under this real scenario if the biden days and. if he is replaced, does it matter? is there somebody off the bench that can do the job and win this election for that party? >> is that white former president trump is not piling on joe biden? he's almost complementary of him post debate suggesting nobody else could have been a better job against him and joe biden. >> for all the reasons listed because the new york times is going to say you should drop out and cnn, things they should turn the page and you hear folks on msnbc talking about options. at this time, where is joe biden's face to say we are behind this guy? aside the debate for a second and his performance and decline in mental acuity. don't tell me how he had this rally friday, the day after and he sounded great. that's because he was reading a teleprompter and when he has words written for him like the state of the union that he's going to sound fine. the minute you take him out of prompter and has to think for himself and speak for himself, then we see a different scenario altogether but donald trump wants joe biden to be his opponent because obviously what happened thursday night but also because gavin newsom comes across as an elitist if you sent him to the middle-class voters of wisconsin, michigan, pennsylvania for example and he says i'm your guy, at least joe biden can connect with those people to a certain extent newsom can't do that and has a record high taxes, high homelessness, poverty and more people leaving california than any state in the country. that's not your solution either so i don't know where democrats go because you don't have the bench and you have a candidate most people think is too old and mentally work on for the job so i don't know where we go here. >> very quickly, he does have supporters and former president obama and former president clinton, they are both saying stay in the race, joe. >> yes and i probably will keep joe biden in the race because barack obama has a lot of sway still within his party but i don't know if the obama brand is all that great because if it was, how did donald trump when in 16 after eight years of obama? that was on him as well as hillary clinton so joe biden will stay because i don't even know there's a legal course of action for democrats to get him on the balance so it's a mess right now, there's only one way to put it. >> fascinating, good to talk to you. thanks. >> great to see you. >> a string of high-profile crimes allegedly committed by illegal immigrants shining an ugly light on the growing crisis in our southern border. police say illegal immigrants are is possible for killing houston's 12-year-old jocelyn. 22-year-old georgia nursing student laken riley and 21-year-old upstate new york woman jocelyn. cb cotton live in new york city with the latest on the new york case. >> speaking of jocelyn, her story is one of the latest cases we've been following and now details are even more grim. the 21-year-old woman who prosecutors say was killed in upstate new york last week have reportedly come to this country to escape domestic violence. ultimately, she'd perish here on u.s. soil. prosecutors say she was suffocated on her 21st birthday last week diane illegal migrants. a man she'd known since elementary school in ecuador. the paramedic last week at an airbnb which also tells fox the suspect was captured on surveillance leaving with her limp body draped across his back. prosecutors tell fox he buried his old classmate in a shallow grave. thursday he appeared in court where local reports say he claimed to not remember anything because he was too drunk. then about two hours in albany, another illegal migrants appeared in court pleading not guilty to raping a teen girl in albany. a police report says may 14 he threatened the 15-year-old with a metal rod to get in the backseat. the court docket says furthermore, the victim tried to push the defendant off of her but he turned to hit her with the metal bar as well as his hand. border patrol agents arrested him, a turkish citizen in november of 2023 of the us-mexico border in california. an attorney tells us his client is here seeking asylum because of political instability and significant social issues in the country. the defense attorney told us his client has no criminal history and denies he committed any forcible sexual act against the complainant. we believe evidence in the case will shed light on what occurred that night. retired fbi agent nicole says the numbers crossing the border means no one can be adequately that it. >> what you see right now is just the tip of the iceberg. i feel like everyone in law enforcement and military members of the special operations association of america, they spoke. it's as if we are all bracing for impact. the damage has been done, frankly. you have millions of people going into the united states and they claim they've been vetted. he got millions of getaways, they've not been edit. >> ice has an immigration hold on the man accused of raping 815-year-old in albany. >> cb cotton, thank you. >> biden's open border nightmare has stolen countless innocent lives. yesterday and euston, 12-year-old jocelyn was laid to rest by her grieving mother, her precious daughter became another victim of the biden migrant crime. people who never have come in here, a lot of these people, we threw them out, they were gone and came back hunter biden. >> illegal immigrant crime and border safety are top election issues. let's bring in chad wolf, former acting dhs secretary and executive director of the america first policy institute. we touched on the more recent cases in the report from cb cotton it is appalling to think each one of these murders could have been prevented, should have been prevented. >> that's exactly right. these are high profile cases that should be getting attention. this type of crime happens every single day and as you said, any crime committed by illegal alien is one 100% preventable. it is why you credible policies in place that don't just release hundreds of thousands of millions of folks into communities. we got abetting issue going on but the biden administration knows this and see the numbers and incidents everyday not doing anything different to apprehend, detain and remove these folks. we see catch and release trying out and see individuals gone into american communities so something needs to change otherwise we will continue to see these stories week after week. >> we have a listing of the recent headlines during the month of june cases involving illegal immigrants and crimes they committed against people in this country. it is astounding that the murder rate in venezuela which used to be the murder capital of the world but the murder rate is dropping apparently because so many gang members and other criminals have come here, the united states. >> under the biden administration's parole program, they paroled close to 100,000 venezuelans into this country that will likely get or will call temporary protected status which will allow them to stay far beyond two years of her parole program so you can see how it builds on itself and that's just one country out of many they are rolling people in. these are the best people coming to the united states. these are individuals that may not go up when you bet them because you're not getting good information from a country like venezuela so we don't know who they are. we only know the information they provide for u.s. databases and sometimes it is not enough which is exactly the reason you don't release millions of individuals into american communities, right to the biden ministrations policy for the last three and a half years as we let folks in and then figure out who they are and we may deport them after they do something bad, it's the wrong approach. >> at the same time, the of administration goes up its hands and says we can't send people back to venezuela because venezuela won't repatriate them. what is the answer to that situation? >> at some think the of administration should have been working on for three years. instead of doing executive order, the says i will turn back upwards for each over 2500 and turn people back to mexico, mexico only takes back spanish speaking folo her nationalities are not going back to mexico, all of them will be released into american communities. they should have made agreements with foreign countries with the majority of folks are coming from to take the foreign nationals back and if they don't, there needs to be consequences either foreign assistance or another type of punishment these countries are going to see from the united states. you got to make it a top foreign policy issue otherwise you will not see any resolution. >> special operators association says alarm bells are ringing all over this country about the prospects of terror attacks resulting from this open border. do you agree? >> i do, you have to look at the experts, fbi director, former deputy director of the cia under president clinton and others, bipartisan issue. everyone is throwing up of like saying we got concerns given what's going on around the world and the fact that the southern border continues to be wide open and continue to see individuals on the watchlist apprehended each and every month. the numbers are growing and it's only unfortunately a matter of time and i can't understand why the biden administration is not being more aggressive and forceful on this front. >> you don't need to enroll them in like schools anymore. ted, thank you. so the come on the fox report, to american astronauts aboard the international space station still waiting to come home. >> the boeing star liners return to earth has been delayed multiple times vanessa says astronauts are making the best of it. i got the details coming up next. ♪ to nasa astronauts on a boeing base craft facing a long way to journey back home as technical glitches delay the starlight returns to earth. williams and butch wilmore lifted off june 5 for was supposed to be a week at the international space station. madison is carpino has details on what's going on. >> this is the boeing star liners for his tesla flight with astronauts on board. one delay after another with its return to earth. that's because of issues with the spacecraft thrusters and ileum leaks but nasa is stressing the astronauts retired navy captain williams and wilmore are in no serious danger. josé hernandez is a former astronaut who spent 14 days of the iss in 2009. he says time went by way too fast and issues with new spacecrafts are not uncommon. he says astronauts are saying busy and likely enjoying the extra time and space. >> mission control called me up and said you craft a state of the weeks or two and i'll do my space happy dance, yes, we are spending more time revolutions around the world, more hours in space, that's so cool. >> engineers using the time to study for star liners issues so they can prevent future problems in space. nasa says overall the star liner is doing well in orbit so if there is some sort of emergency and astronauts have to leave, the star liner is clear to travel back to earth. here's an update from nasa yesterday. >> i want to make it clear they are not stranded in space. our plan is to continue to return them on star liner and return them home at the righ
