everyone. i'm linsey davis, in for david. we do begin this fourth of july on a somber note. two deadly mass shootings in america in a year which has seen a staggering rise in gun violence across this country. disturbing surveillance video shows a gunman opening fire in philadelphia as police investigate a shooting rampage targeting random victims on the streets and in their cars, killing five people, wounding two young boys. the victims killed are between the ages of 15 and 59. the suspect is now in custody. police say the alleged shooting was carrying an ar-style rifle and wearing body armor. authorities are also investigating a deadly shooting in fort worth, texas. searching for suspects wanted for killing three people and wounding eight others there. this holiday also marks one year since the horrific parade shooting in highland park, illinois. a community holding a ceremony and moment of silence honoring the seven people killed. president biden calling out the mass shootings in recent days, urging congress to pass tough gun control legislation. so far this year, there have now been more than 340 mass
