[laughter] pete: it's a fair point. speaking of new jersey, we have to move on, there's a poll out there that shows trump up 1 is point in new jersey. rachel: amazing. pete: part of the reason, places like cape may with are very conservative. but he was in virginia yesterday talking about the debate with a big crowd, and here's what former president trump had to say. [cheers and applause] >> thank you very much. thank you. thank you. hello, virginia. did anybody last night watch a thing called the debate? [cheers and applause] man, that was a big one. we had a big victory against a man that is really look to destroy our country. he's the worst. he's the most corrupt, the most incompetent president in the history of our country. [cheers and applause] and we have to take it back from that party. remember, the biggest problem for our country is not joe biden's personal decline, it's that joe bidens' policies are causing america's decline at a level we've never seen before: that's why this virginia the people -- november the people of virginia and the people of america are going to the tell crooked joe biden, biden, you're fired! will: there's a lot of people making the point that trump makes, it's his policies. i don't know. i think they're both of equal weight. and actually they're related to each other because the decline being covered up with with the lies, i can't get over that. i just think it's -- from the media what to the political sphere, you're willing to throw the security of the united states of america under the bus for whatever it is that's compelling you to lie. and you'll do the same thing on policies, that's my point. rachel: well, i think that -- you know, i was at a diner just the morning after that debate, and it was fascinating how many people said i woke up more scared about america -- pete: they should be. rachel: -- today. they should be. imagine you're the mother or a father of a military member. we're on the brink potentially of world war iii. i mean, we're in all these proxy wars, anything could go wrong, and this is the guy in charge? and mind you, will and pete, you have schumer and all these other people coming out and saying, you know, a few weeks ago a how sharp he is, and he's analyzing every issue inside of the, you know, oval office and in the, you know, all the places in the world, he's analyzing it, and he knows what we have to do and he's debating. look at that man you're seeing on the screen there. he's debating no one but himself there. pete: yeah. rachel: the only question he's asking is who am i. pete: what am i doing here? rachel: joe, where are you? pete: that split screen is the reason it was so terrible for joe, but i do believe we're underplaying the phenomenal performance -- not us, but the mediaover all. trump did a great job not taking the bait, staying disciplined, going back to policy. he didn't overplay the whole joe you don't know where you are, but he did it at the right time. when he talked about you didn't fire anybody over afghanistan or, over what's happening at the border, that landed with me a lot. to your point about security of our nation, the country. trump passed the commander in chief test clearly and and joe biden not even close. rachel: and people asking who is running the show. that's a great question. will: well, fascinating move in oklahoma where the oklahoma state the superintendent has passed new requirements to public schools teach the bible and the ten commandments. now, the argument that's been made, well, look, the bible is inseparable from the history of the united states. that's just, that's a fact. that's a historical fact. it's interwoven. christianity is interwoven into the deck la a haitian -- declaration of independence. pete: endowed by the creator? will: that's what a natural right is. that's the beginning point, and father steven hamilton was on "fox & friends" earlier. >> it's a great day here in oklahoma, a great opportunity with the bible policy because it gives us an opportunity for a renewed focus on a source document of our cultural patrimony, recognizing the bible's value from the historical and a literary perspective. i think to be clear, this is not a policy about using the bible as a religious or devotional use. rather, it's an academic study from historical and literary perspective. if. will: weeing, by the way, add had that -- we, by the way, had that conversation. we do have separation of church and state in terms of should you be teaching religion in school, but you have to teach history in schools, and religion is part of history. pete: and you can't teach western civilization without biblical understanding. it's impossible. so louisiana just put the ten commandments in every classroom. there'll be challenges to these, but there's a supreme court there i think will overturn some of the things that happened years ago in the '60s and the '800s that took player and the bible and the ten commandments out of schools. those will be challenged, and rightfully so. because for 150 years, almost 20 the 0 years, those were in our public government schools. not as an establishment of religion, but as a recognition of our foundation. and it's good to see states doing it, and i hope more do. texas should do it. tennessee should do it. other states should say this is important to us. rachel: it's interesting to see the pendulum start to swing in the other direction after so many years of ignoring, as you said, history and the foundation and the roots of so many things. i mean, i think of it in terms of assimilation. we have all these new people coming into the country. assimilation is important for unity. another point that i think this brings up is, you know, nothing happens in a vacuum, you know? something happens in a vacuum, i should say. you take these roots out, what has happened in public schools, you've injected a different religion, the religion of wokeness and gender theory and crt and all of these progressive things have become the new foundation, even religion cult of american public schools. maybe this also is part of, you know, pulling that back because, as you said, pete, so well in the books that you've written, this has been intentional. it's an agenda. pete: no doubt. and it started with the removing of god. if we're going to get back on the path, let's throw him back in there. rachel: that's right. will: all right. mcdonald's not loving it.
