not everybody made it to the rally. hundreds of jewish individuals from detroit were left stranded on the tarmac in d.c. on a plane yesterday. because their bus drivers allegedly refused to drive pro-israel supporters to that event. >> lawrence: our next guests was one of those passengers stranded for more than eight hours on the tarmac before they flew back home without even attending the rally at all. >> steve: how crazy is that? university of michigan student jonah seinfeld chop joins us now. jonah, good morning to you. >> good morning. how are you? >> steve: doing better than you. i actually got to go to the rally yesterday. you were about 20 miles away from it. so, jonah. as it turns out, it sounds like these bus drivers, about a third of the bus drivers who were hired by your organization to drive you to the event at the mall behind me here in washington, a third of them said, you know what? we're going to stage a sickout because we don't like driving jewish people to that rally. at what point were you told that? >> so, we were sitting on the tarmac for about an hour and a half when we were told that the buses were having trouble making it through security and entering the tarmac. and then about two and a half hours after landing in d.c. from detroit, we were -- rumors started going around the plane that there was an ongoing walkout of the bus drivers who worked for the company that the jewish federation of detroit had hired to drive us into the city for the rally. and then a representative of the jewish federation of detroit got on the speaker of the plane and told us that, in fact, there were bus drivers refusing to come and pick us up to drive us to the protest. >> ainsley: that's insane. i was reading an article, correct me if i am wrong, you all did have the opportunity and maybe this is the video we are seeing to get off the plane. and then get on another bus but then they realized that bus was for a different group of passengers so you all had to get back on the bus and you were on the bus for 11 hours straight -- i mean on the plane for 11 hours straight? >> yeah. so we briefly got off the plane around like -- around 2:00 p.m. and boarded three buses. and after being on the buses for about 15 minutes, we were told to get back onto the tarmac because the buses were not ours. they weren't supposed to take us to the rally. so then, as you can see from the videos, we were standing on the tarmac for about 20 minutes and people were singing and taking pictures and just showing support for israel from where we could. then we had to go back on the plane for another four hours to wait until we were flown back to detroit without leaving the place where we landed. >> brian: what's the name of the company? >> i guess, -- personally i feel ambivalent because, on the one hand, it was so dismaying not being able to show support for israel and for the hostages still captive in gaza and just to feel empowered by hundreds of thousands of people who support me and who support the jewish community. so, it was so disappointing to not be able to be there and to be a part of that. but, on the other hand, it's so heart-warming and empowering to see how many people turned up and were loud and were voicing their support for israel. so, i'm pretty torn about how i feel about it today. personally, it was such a chaotic day but also so nice to see the support that israel received. >> steve: right. jonah, so many went, specifically, to stand with israel. and, also, to remind people about the hostages. but, ultimately, a lot of people were there to protest the fact that an anti-semitism is skyrocketing in this country and it looks like you and the people stuck on the tarmac were victims of anti-semitism going to the anti-anti-semitism rally. >> yeah. i mean, it's hard not to be a little bit upset about what happened. i definitely was -- i have been looking forward to coming to d.c. for a while now. and especially being on a college campus. it's hard to always feel empowered to voice your opinion about israel. especially when you're supporting the jewish people and when anti-semitism has been rising so drastically. the past month. and, yeah, it's upsetting. >> ainsley: jonah, do you want those bus drivers fired? [laughter] apparently going around. >> only in the chest. >> steve: have you ever called anybody a smurf, senator? >> serve a smurf to him he is 65. the other thing is, if you are a congressman, you should not leave your kidneys open walking the hall. you should have some type of a flak jacket to guard your organs. >> ainsley: that was a weird statement he elbowed me in the kidney. a kidney shot. >> ainsley: i would say in my back. >> brian: then he went to do press for the next six hours. >> steve: do you know what? they are senators, they should probably rise above the shabbiness. >> ainsley: you are right. fun tv. >> steve: sitting next to a senator who was risen above the shabbiness. let's talk about what is going on there in the new york city area. they have cut 250 school safety officers in the staten island area. and so all that money that was going to go into their pockets as paychecks i is being diverted to the migrant crisis. yesterday, the mayor of the great city -- once great city of new york, eric adams said, you know what? i have got a plan. that is for parents to start volunteering. watch this. >> have to make sure that we continue to create an environment for our children. we have to shift around personnel as much as possible. we're going to be leaning into parents and parent groups to do some volume material. volunteerism.we have to pull aln deck moment. >> lawrence: you don't get to recommend that your city is a sanctuary city with no plan and then call the parents to help when they are facing inflation, they are living paycheck-to-paycheck. they are barely surviving and calling on the parents to solved a problem that you invented. i think that is so wrong. >> ainsley: didn't we just pay to train them. it says these are newly trained safety agents. we just paid to train them like those tent cities going up for the migrants. we pay for all of those, hundreds of thousands of dollars for the tents to go up and don't use them and take them down and rebuild them. just wasteful spending. our kids need to be safe. these are safety agents. our families need to be safe. if we're going to spend the money to train them, let's use them. and we need them more than ever because crime is up in the city. >> brian: staten island officials are blasting him, too. it's a decision. you wonder what else they could cut. the other thing be about eric adams, he has been speaking out. he has been saying that we should revisit the sanctuary status. the governor has even talked about they haven't done it yet. in chicago they are considering it. if trump wins, he might have a lot of support to get rid of it. i believe a lot of people think they are crashing down on eric adams in this turkey connection where they took his phones in broad daylight and he left the plane en route to the white house because he has been standing up to biden. could be a coincidence. but the one mayor that's calling out the president who refused to meet with him even though he was across town and the president directly responsible for the cratering of this city because of 113,000. >> ainsley: are you suggesting we have a two tiered justice system? >> brian: yeah. there is one side is the left and there the other side, anyone who criticizes the left. even if you are on the left, perhaps. >> lawrence: steve, he kicked mayor adams off of his presidential campaign. he was on the steering committee and once he started criticizing. >> brian: took his hands off the wheel. >> steve: joe biden did. when the mayor says essentially this is what he is saying, if you want your kids to be safe, in the public schools, parents you are going to have to volunteer. i bet parents are going to volunteer because they want their kids safe. it's not the way it should happen. if that's what it is going to take of course people would show up. >> ainsley: who am i going to do? i would love to volunteer what am i going to do if someone comes in that's dangerous? i'm going to talk. >> brian: get a youtube video. >> ainsley: i'm going to be advocate i'm going to say let's calm down. >> brian: don't make me raise my voice. >> ainsley: my daughter calls it the dark voice it. only comes out at night when she won't go bed. she uses every excuse under the sun as you know as a parent, needs milk, oh, momma i need to go to the bathroom. i didn't brush my teeth as well as i should. momma, can we read another jesus book? of course that's hard to say no to. she is smart. this is a negotiator. >> brian: i used to say can i stay up for "the tonight show"? [laughter] >> ainsley: your parents were i know what he is going to do. >> brian: i should have tried the jesus book that would have been better. >> ainsley: carley, get ready your tiger i love watching him. >> carley: that's so cute she wants to stay up to read another jesus book with you. >> ainsley: i know what time my alarm is going off she needs sleep. >> carley: that is called working the system. >> brian: always read a jesus book. >> ainsley: dark voice comes out while i'm reading the jesus book. >> brian: what kind of voice are you going to use. >> carley: i will use minus woman voice. we do have very serious news to get to, guys, if a horrific story that isn't getting enough attention. new overnight, eight las vegas teens are arrested and charged with murder in connection with the deadly beating of this 17-year-old. you see him on your screen right there jonathan lewis. the suspects are between the ages of 13 and 17. they were all booked in a juvenile detention center. police are still looking for two more suspects. now, lewis died less than a week after the attack. authorities believe the fight was over a pair of stolen headphones. and possibly a vape. and he lost his life as a result. now, to a developing story. public schools in portland, oregon will remain closed today it after negotiation stalled between the teacher's union and the school district. students have had not a single day of school this month as we enter day nine much historic strike. $200 million less than what they're looking for. a lot of daylight to be made up for here. two portland patients were join us next hour to discuss this strike. and it is a kelce family christmas. trough vets kelce song second christmas album has been released. >> hanged some. >> you are pretty. >> the king of south filly. >> the band is playing they how old out for more. >> the sound of the silver ages. >> we're going to let a chief steal the show? >> hell no. >> >> bells were ringing out for christmas day. >> carley: i can't believe this whole thing. one person not featured on the album is taylo
