so that will be something i'm sure you and your crew will be carefully listening for throughout the morning hours right. that's right. so no sirens sounding off just in these minutes that we've seen. it will be something that we will need to watch to see if we get that official confirmation, not only from israeli officials, from officials in gaza, but also from those negotiating these deals. qatar has been very instrumental in making sure that these negotiations take place and saying that it has successfully been agreed upon. but there are so many moving parts and it's a very dangerous and tricky situation to make sure that, yes, despite the fact this has been a green lighted and this is moving forward, that that this actually does come to fruition today. claudia well, alex, take us through the rules of this cease fire. as you mentioned. it's very complicated. a lot of moving parts, a lot of tense negotiations went into this. but really, who gets what out of this cease fire? so the rules of what will need to take place so israel will no longer be able to fly over northern gaza between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. local time. and it will not be able to fly over southern gaza at all. southern gaza is where a lot of the palestinians have fled. more than 1.7 million people have been displaced. most of them now living in evacuation sites and un shelters. more than 800,000 people are living in un shelters right now. a lot of them also living in the streets. so it's important for hamas to say that israel is not allowed to fly over those areas because of the civil liens that are there. israel, of course, argues that hamas has been using these civilians as human shields. but but still, those are the rules of what we will likely see take place. israel also is not allowed to attack on the ground, but part of that cease fire, of course, is preventing hamas from attacking israeli forces as well. so israeli officials have said if there is any strike whatsoever, of course, that will be there will be a retaliation for that. and that inevitably would cancel, would void the cease fire that could take place. but but as of right now, there's a lot of hope on the ground for people who will be waking up here. there's this eagerness to see if at 4:00 pm those hostages would be able to be released. all right. just about nine hours from now. so if all goes to plan, this will be a day of emotional reunions for at least 13 families, right. it's been 47 days since october 7th. so many of those families have been waiting in agony for any news about their loved ones. have those families of the hostages being released today have they been notified? and do we know if any americans are among those being freed? so there are 13 families who have been notified per the israeli government that they have been told that their loved ones are on that list. there's a lot of concern, obviously, with any kind of hostage negotiation deal. these families have been told. so if anything falls out in this plan, those families have their hopes up. they have now been told hours ahead that their loved one will come home. so despite the fact that they know this, there's a lot of precaution and a lot of doubt of whether or not all of this realistically will come to fruition by the end of the day. but still a lot of hope. i've been talking with families for the last six weeks about what this pain has been like for them. it's been a daily nightmare, not being able to sleep, imagining what your loved one would be going through if they are being held hostage. likely underground in tunnels for more than a month now. so these 13 families will hopefully see their loved ones come home today. what we know about these these people, these hostages who were taken, they will be directly taken to a hospital. likely a lot of them will be suffering not only psychological wounds, but probably physical wounds as well. we talked to one expert who talked about just the damage that that can have on your body of not seeing the sunlight for a month, likely malnutrition, dehydration among other things. if there weren't any previous injuries involved. now, what we know about americans potential in this, we had heard reports that reported three americans would be released among this group of 50 hostages. but unfortunately, only the little girl who was turning four today who was in custody, her name was not on the list of 13 people to be released today. claudia you know, just heartbreaking. hopefully that little girl will be released in the days ahead. and what about the initial 39 palestinian prisoners among the first group of that 150 being released by israel, reportedly women and teenagers? what can you tell us about them so these palestinians who are being held , 150 of them will be released in israel, did release a name, a list of 300 names of people who were eligible to be released. so giving people in in gaza and palestinians a little bit more clarity on who they could be. but these, again , are women and children, most of them had been arrested in the last year. and most of the offenses, they're minor offenses, throwing rocks was the most common offense of those who were taken into custody in the last year. they will be released again in batches just like what we're seeing on the other side to make sure that it is essentially an even playing field. but it is worth noting, in the past, israel has given up a lot to bring its hostages back home. in one case alone, israel gave up 1000 palestinian prisoners just for one soldier. so what we're seeing in this deal, it's about three palestinians for one israeli hostage or the other foreign nationals who were taken on october 7th. so like likely what we will see as this all plays out, a lot of hope for the families in gaza as well. we've heard one mother spoke out about how traumatizing and how difficult this has been for her and how there's so much hope for her as well in this potential hostage negotiation deal. the families, they're very much waiting to see their loved ones come home as well. claudia and alex, we're taking a live look here at a picture of southern israel where we're seeing a building with black smoke. i i don't exactly know more information than that, but i'm just letting you know what we're showing our viewers right now as the temporary mideast truce is set to begin, i want to quickly ask you, israel wanted the red cross to be able to check on the other hostages that are not being released in gaza. and hamas pushed back on that. what more do we know about that? so just to get to what you first mentioned, the black smoke that we're seeing there in southern israel, it is worth noting just in the last 30 minutes, we did have reports of airstrikes and attacks. there was an attack in the jabalia area in gaza, and there's likely retaliation for that. that is not to say that this smoke specifically is coming from an attack that could have taken place after 7 a.m. we'll look into that. but when we do see these types of attacks, the smoke will linger. typically for if not an hour potentially more. now, getting specifically to what we were talking about in terms of the palestinian potentially being freed and the hostages needing medical help, we know that a lot of them are in dire conditions when many of these hostages were taken into custody, taken, abducted, essentially, many of them had severe, severe wounds. and since that time, the last six weeks, we have seen several hostages, bodies being found. hamas claims that they died because of medical concerns. but it is very important for the israeli government to get medical aid to them. the red cross is trying to get in to see those hostages, but at this point, hamas has said that many of these hostages have gone missing. so, claudia, this is missing so this is going to be big concern today. >> were going to be watching. ied is made for people like sam, who make- everyday products, designed smarter. like a smart coffee grinder, that orders fresh beans for you. oh, genius! for more breakthroughs like that- i need a breakthrough card. like ours! with 2.5% cash back on purchases of $5,000 or more. plus unlimited 2% cash back on all other purchases. and with greater spending potential, sam can keep making smart ideas- a brilliant reality! the ink business premier card from chase for business. make more of what's yours. ♪ if it hurts when you poop sometimes like pinching off ♪ ♪ a porcupine and you're sweatin' your ♪ ♪ next trip to the loo ♪ ♪ colace is the brand you need ♪ ♪ to soften stools we're all agreed ♪ ♪ #2 should be easy to do ♪ trust colace to soften stools, with no stimulants, for comfortable relief. my mom's life is the most important thing to me. hi mom! i called my mom, "i have this gene and i think you need to get tested." she feels like it was truly lifesaving. all right. 60 seconds to draw the perfect gift. what's it gonna be?
