>> dana: hello, everyone. i am dana perino, my ear just got blown out but i am all right. i'm here with judge jeanine pirro, jessica tarlov, greg gutfeld, it's 5:00 in new york city, and this is "the five." ♪ ♪ all right, the house set to vote any minute on making the impeachment inquiry into president biden official as his son claims maga republicans are targeting him and his family. enter biden showing up on capitol hill this morning and divinely ducking the closed-door deposition set up for him. and said of honoring a presidential subpoena, the president's son demanding a public hearing while lashing out at the g.o.p. lawmakers who wanted to question him.. >> for six years, i have been the target of the unrelenting trump attack machine, shouting "where's hunter?" well, here's my answer: i am here. but i am also here today to correct how the maga right has portrayed me for their political purposes. republicans do not want an open process where americans can see their tactics. expose their baseless inquiry. or hear what i have to say. what are they afraid of? i am here. i am ready. >> dana: but hunter biden choosing his words very carefully on if his father, joe biden, was involved in his business dealings. listen here. >> my father was not financially involved in my business. not as a practicing lawyer, not as a board member of burisma, not in my partnership with the chinese private businessman, not in my investments at home nor abroad. and certainly not as an artist. >> dana: you catch that? top republican james comer and jim jordan not letting a subpoena snuff slide, pledging to initiating contempt proceedings against the first son. jesse watters, i am sure you are watching this but you know a lot about it. he said "my father was not financially involved," did your ears perk up? >> jesse: well, that is a lie. and even if he wasn't financially involved, he is logistically involved, he is personally involved, he is politically involved, because when you fly your son to 15 countries, you are logistically involved. when you are personally involved, politically involved, when you are meeting with all of his clients at the white house come at the vice president's residence, ethical course, at the four seasons in los angelesy involved, and then doing favors for the client's leg when you are firing the prosecutor running the ukrainians a blank check, or you are not popping the balloon or shutting down the fbi task force on china, lifting trump tariffs on cheap solar panels, yeah, you're doing favors, writing letters of recommendation for the people -- come on. everybody knows he is involvr he and senate depositions, hours. they didn't pull theatrics like that. there is no way he is going to get away with this. he is racking up another charge, this guy has some nerve. i love how we say this guy is clean and joe biden is clean. where is the 1.6 million in cash that hunter biden withdrew over three years? no one is curious about where the cash went? is its own into windbreakers in joe's closet? i mean, you've got missing cash. you've got missing diamonds. no one is curious about where all of this goes? i mean, you've got hunter biden, and 2018, according to dave voice in the indictment, the indictment says hunter biden made $2.1 million in 2018 and he goes, there was no evidence of any business. he didn't conduct any business, and there was no business travel, so hunter biden is being indicted for not paying taxes on his bribes. that's what's going on here. and why were people bribing hunter biden? because he was selling access to the biden brand, obviously. >> dana: what is his legal position, judge? your thoughts? >> jeanine: first of all, in a not so legal phraseology, hunter biden gave congress the middle finger today. hunter biden is bound by the law, just like steve bannon and just like everybody else who has been held in contempt. steve bannon, from a time he refused to come in and honor the subpoena, within a year, he was sentenced, this can move quickly and it must. you can't go out there you can't say my father loves me and i had a problem and the maga people are after me. the maga people are not after you come hunter, what the maga people in every other american or after his equal justice. they don't want to hear about the guy making millions of dollars in foreign countries and then watching the policy play out in this country where it seems to benefit the other countries, as jesse has so eloquently laid out, whether it is popping the balloon, whether it is three days after there is a meeting and his son is told about the prosecutor on burisma, three days later, after hunter called his father, joe gets on a plane to ukraine and threatens withholding a billion dollars of our money that that prosecutor off my son's company. because that business, burisma, was corrupt, it was going down. they had to make sure i could pass muster on wall street, that is what that was all about. when hunter biden says "my father was not financially involved" come as a prosecutor, every antenna goes up. so if your father was not financially involved, first, you know, joe says he knows nothing of his sons business. next he is not involved in his business, now he is not financially involved. then it begs the question and it begs impeachment inquiry. how was he involved then? if he wasn't financially, tell me all the circuitous ways he was involved, and we do that with the emails, we do it with his so-called stolen laptop, which he has already admitted is his, and there is proof, pictures, photographs, emails, business partners, and the crazy part of this thing is he says, "i want to speak in front of the united states people." wait a minute, wasn't at the democrats, jesse, who had that impeachment inquiry in the bottom of the basement of the house, where nancy pelosi said for two years, you know, we've got to do it down here, we don't want anyone upstairs interfering -- >> jesse: and then they destroyed the tapes. >> jeanine: the last point i want to make is this. stop with this drug addiction nonsense. because a lot of the cones in the latest indictment are post addiction. all you have to do is read his book and know that he was no longer addicted and he still wasn't paying taxes. >> dana: he says, greg, it is the maga republicans coming after me. you might be able to get the media to write that story, but chris murphy is a democrat senator from connecticut, friendly with the bidens come he said a lot of the charges seem legitimate to him. >> greg: it was a stunning press conference, stunning for me to finally see hunter speak with pants on. it was disorienting, like seeing santa without a shirt on or jesse without his hairpiece, you just can't handle it. did you see his mouth move minus a crack pipe or a straw, like watching lazarus do a back flip, it was bizarre. he snubbed the closed-door death deposition because he does not like anything closed him including his laptop or his bate and he says he wants a public hearing because he probably didn't notice the l in public. but i will say this. i still would take him over his dad as president because this guy gets it done. this guy a successful. he is an american success story. and the judge is right. it's easy for us to focus on the hill they are and tragedy of his lifestyle, but it is also easy to exploit addiction as a shield. millions of people did not leverage political power and influence foreign cash, people with addictions who didn't deny their own child or try to blame an errant gun on illegal aliens or repeatedly lied to authorities or enjoy the protections of a famous name. there are millions of addicts who didn't do that. he just got a lot of breaks. he got more breaks than a million junkies, so i am glad that he is making amends. far be it from me to judge. but you can't blame others for impugning your own character, especially when it was a one-man show. and i mean, you know, who else -- talk about breaks, who else, a first-time artist gets an exhibit in soho, selling's's not for hundreds of thousands of dollars and we have no idea who is paying? he can play the victim card but no one else was filming him naked, it was not maga republicans. maga republicans are not pointing firearms near terrified sex workers. maga workers weren't slyly implying that if you don't do what he says, you know, the big guy he might, you know, come around, and maga republicans didn't write the emails about the big guy. i think the only way that hunter is a victim as he is a victim of his dad running for president. i think he was doing all of this stuff under the assumption that dad was retiring. and he was building a big, vast retirement fund for joe come and then joe all of a sudden is running and he is like, holy crap, you are out of your mind, and he was, still is, but now hunter is like, holy crap, now the spotlight is on him. >> dana: jessica, you have the floor. >> jessica: great, so much to choose from, like a lazy susan of crazy. so, i look forward to most likely be jesse who will next have jim jordan on his show, and you can ask him about the subpoena from a january 6th committee that he has flouted for years now. hasn't turned up. no respect for the rule of the law, as judge puro would say. so you can list all these other people, but i want to see jim jordan being pushed on that and i think you are the man to do it. hunter -- >> jesse: subpoenaed by jan six? and he -- so he can get arr arrested. speed two oh, right, because we control all of the law hunter made a lengthy statement about why he wanted to testify in public and there is some important details in it and i understand that he got subpoenaed a certain way for a closed-door testimony.y. but it matters when he gets clear examples of the fact that republicans have completely distorted his record, his bank records, his emails, and we saw what they did with the devon archer testimony, right? that emerge from that saying devon archer said that joe biden was behind this, et cetera, and you listen to the other people in the room, dana goldman, for instance, instance, eventually the transcript was produced where devon archer said the complete opposite, joe biden was not personally -- viktor shokin was not fired by joe biden to protect his son. first of all joe biden could not have gotten the international committee to do it. it is just a load -- >> greg: there was no large international community -- >> jessica: of course there was. christine lagarde. >> greg: international community. >> jessica: yes, it is. it is not one person, and senate republicans, whole bunch of them. republicans are freaking out because of the beginnings of this impeachment inquiry, which i've been going on or fact finding going on since they took the majority about a year ago has turned up absolutely nothing. >> jesse: really?
