east coast, 8:00 here in los angeles and this is america's late news, fox news at night. breaking tonight, 10,000 california fast food workers now out of work. hundred the fast food restaurants out of business. it all comes on the heels of the state increasing the minimum wage for fast food employees. we know california crime is bad but why are thieves stealing fire hydrants. plus 80 years since d-day. are we forgetting the sacrifice, are we losing our patriotism? it's a nightcap you need to weigh and honour. a brand that is standing up for women's sports, we will talk life to jennifer say, the company ceo and cofounder. we begin with this. >> [ inaudible question by the media ] >> i see them identifying with trump. >> why do you say that? >> because they have... >> trace: him giving them some common sense. he's apparently not alone. young and black voters are moving away from president biden. this international correspondent kevin corke live in dc with more on the new numbers. >> in many ways it is sort of a canary in the coal mine moment for the biden campaign because if they lose not just one but maybe two of your strongest, most reliable voting blocs. african-americans in young people, especially in a close election cycle, chances are you are flat-out doomed which is why 50 cents take that black men are increasingly identifying with the former president is so worrisome for democrats. >> what do you is the significance of african-american men in this election. >> i see them identifying with trump. >> wise that that? >> they've got charges. >> the former president trailing joe biden by just ten points. keep in mind usually democrats win the black vote by sort of a 90-10 margin. what's more, the former president actually leads mr biden among young latinos, 32 to 28. south carolina senator and potential vice presidential candidate tim scott has announced that he will travel to battleground states in the coming weeks to speak with black voters on why they should reelect former president trump. all of this is part of an initiative with the great opportunity. >> trace: you recall last night's nightcap i said tim scott was the leading candidate. >> i remember. >> trace: kevin thank you. former president trump campaigning in arizona today as we gain new insight into how the presidential race is shaping up in key battleground states. from the latest fox news democracy 24 poles, we have the new numbers there. she is like ross in new york city. >> in arizona it was trump's first campaign stop since being convicted by a manhattan jury and his first appearance in the battleground state in nearly two years. >> if we could have honest elections in this country, i would've stopped campaigning two weeks ago. on working my ass off to bring -- to make sure we get victory. >> according to the latest polls, the swing state of arizona would go to the former president if the election were held today. trump leads president biden by five percentage points among registered voters where trump's border state visit comes on the heels of biden's executive order on immigration, something trump addressed in an interview with sean hannity. >> it's meaningless, it's a joke. everybody knows it has nothing to do with border security. >> arizona, registered voters say they trusted trump by an overwhelming 20 percentage points more than biden on handling the issue of immigration and border control. let's take a look at more newly released poles in key battleground states. in nevada, the former president leads the commander-in-chief by five points. in virginia... this after losing that state by ten points in 2020. finally in florida trump is currently ahead by a narrow four-point margin. with the republican national convention approaching in a few weeks, the trump campaign is reportedly vetting more than half a dozen possible vice presidential picks while also announcing a swap of the vote usa initiative to prepare -- to promote absentee, malin and early in person voting. >> trace: thank you. let's bring in the founder of blessed people forget. jessica to you first i want to put these battleground head-to-head pulls up. fox news, arizona biden won in 2020 now trump up by five. florida one... and virginia, biden up by ten and it's now tied. >> on the surface these polls spell good news for trump and bad news for president biden. when you dig a little deeper into those, when you see that the coalition that elected biden is being cracked down, when you see that president trump is now from 9 percent to 25 percent against -- for black voters and biden went from 80 to 40 points. that's a huge problem for them. when we are seeing what's happening in gaza, the pro- hamas wing of the democrat party. the radical progressives. this is all hurting joe biden. >> trace: to trust to do a better job on the border and immigration, look at the numbers there. you see trump up by big numbers. twenty in arizona, all the way in virginia where it's 17 or so, those are big leads at this stage in the game. >> they are incredibly big leads. want to mention only do americans trust president trump more than joe biden over the issues that you mention, they also trust president trump more when it comes to foreign policy. specifically when it comes to what we are seeing in ukraine and gaza in the middle east with this war. the fact is president trump promised peace through strength and he delivered. the american people now know they can compare three and a half years under president biden , four years under president trump. know what it means to live in a world of peace. they want that and that's why they are ready to put president trump back in the white house again. >> trace: this border executive action has done nothing. we will talk about it later. you can see the numbers are also very big. arizona up by 15, virginia up by 12. he lost virginia in 2020 by ten to joe biden. what you think? >> how can anybody thank that joe biden would do a better job on the border? it should be 90-10 not 60-30. the economy is something donald trump wants to talk about continuously because the fact is most americans are poor today -- poor them when biden came into office when you take into account the cost of living. these numbers are very simple. the inflation rate for the things you have to buy up 22 percent or so. some things are up 25 or 30 percent. and you look at people's incomes up about 17 percent. by my estimates the average family has lost about $2000 in purchasing power. you know what that was under trump? positive 6000. that's a big difference. >> trace: a burrito is 18 bucks across the street and it was nine bucks before. >> what about mcdonald's? did you see that? the ceo set the prices for mcdonald's is 40 percent higher than it was four years ago. you can't afford a cheeseburger anymore. >> fifty-seven the robert says he identified with trump. watch. >> what do you see as the significance of african-american men in the selection? >> i see them identifying with trump. >> why do you say that? >> because they have charges. >> he means law being used against trump but that's kinda resonating. >> 50-cent up in the hill. he is out there and the numbers back it up. we talk about black voters and especially young black voters. what do they want to do right now? they want to build their lives and they want to have a great job to go to. they want to be able to afford to buy a home. they are unable to do that in a biden economy. >> trace: support with key voters, look at these. the numbers on the right are the ones you want to look at. look at the black voters, biden down 54. latino voters, down 37. asian voters down 16. these are kind of negative signs to. things are going to change, it's five months away. for now it doesn't bode well. >> it does not bode well at all. want to point out all the groups that you mentioned, these weren't just groups that put biden over the edge in the last election, these are groups that have stood very much on the side of democrats for countless election cycles and i think we are finally seeing the democrats are going to have to learn at the ballot box this november is that they cannot take these votes for granted anymore. you saw what 50 sent to said. americans at fi with trump because we know what it means to live with and a ministration that puts more focus into targeting their number 1 political opponent than serving the american people. i think we are sick of it at this point and that's why donald trump is going to win this election because people are not going to stand anymore. >> the family's financial situation, the fox news poll getting ahead. you look at the march which is in the red box versus in march and you see 13 percent getting ahead. the big number is the bottom holding steady and falling behind 40 percent. you -- 86 percent? it's almost everybody saying can't get ahead. >> the only person who things this economy is good is joe biden. they don't call it that says the groups that are being hurt the most are hispanics and blacks. that this is not surprising to me. they've been the victims of biden's inflation policy. biden -- if donald trump gets 2, this isn't even going to be a close race. >> trace: thank you all. and 50 minutes, it will be exactly two days since president biden's executive action on the border took effect. took three and a half years temple meant and things of the border now getting worse. >> trace: live with new information on the continuing border crisis. good evening. >> yes, it's unclear if or when president biden's executive order will have any impact on the staggering number of illegal crossings at the border. they apprehended more than 4000 illegal immigrants at the southern border between ports of entry just yesterday alone. keep in mind, biden's executive order has been in place now for nearly two days. it bans asylum for illegal immigrants with some exceptions once the average number of border encounters exceeds 2500 a day over seven days. former acting ice director says this federal action is too little too late. >> it's okay for 2500 people every day to cross the border illegally and be released to the united states. why isn't it one? are we okay with 23 million... we are not. >> he witnessed migrants from all over the world illegally cross the border this morning. >> where you from? mauritania. where you guys from? mexico, guatemala. >> also another staggering number in this border crisis, sources tell fox news 503,000 unaccompanied minors have arrived in the u.s. under the biden administration. >> trace: thank you. let's bring an republican candidate for california state assembly... i want to get you for one quick question and we will come back to the reason we brought you one later. if this whole border thing. the idea here is a want to play you this. it's a soundbite, it's worth the wait. it's 11 seconds about who is coming in, nine seconds on where they are going. play this and we will talk to carl. okay, we don't have it. they're coming in from everywhere, that's the bottom line and they are going to san diego because they already have the job. >> i saw the package and what he's finding is that these people are coming in, they are military aged men coming across the border. san diego sector is number -- is the number 1 sector in the nation because the texas governor secured his border and california's governor is rolling out the welcome mat. the red carpet has been rolled out. they are getting welfare benefits and it's very clear that the ministration is not serious. it's been just two days since the executive order and we have no movement at the border to secure it. something bad is going to happen. it's not a question now of it but rather when. >> trace: do we think that this border executive orders going to help at all? >> the only one it's designed to help is joe biden. he wants to pretend like he gives a damn about our border. under his order there really is no border security. there is no shutting down the border. he does not count the god always. allows over 900,000 people to come in, 2500 a day. we also don't count people coming across the port of entries. there's no border security here, we're talking about millions of people still coming into this country, no vetting process. military aged man, why are they coming, what did they plan to do? >> trace: standby. the fox news and i commonsense department loves it when california governor gavin newsom takes a swipe at fox news. happens a lot so there's a lot to love. this time they posted and posted on social media that california has the nation's most fortune 500 companies and added that you wouldn't hear that on fox. and yet here we are. the common sense wonders why he is touting the big dog corporations and undermining the mom-and-pop shops. he could not wait to publicize his mandate that fast food workers get 20 bucks an hour. he's not quite as motivated to publicize the fact that his mandate has now cost 10,000 jobs. 10,000 workers who would gladly go back to 16 bucks an hour because at least they be working. rubio's tacos, born and bred in california now closing 48 golden state stores. they are closing over money, but hundreds of california businesses have shut down because of crime. but they think now is a good time to cut hundreds of millions from state justice. that's cops, prisons, prosecutors. how did that defunding thing go last time around? now some retail chains wanted their employees to wear body cams to patrol the stores. who needs a cop when you have a camera? maybe instead of going after fox had newsom should watch fox. you might pick up a trace of common sense. to bring them back for california state assembly... a long with the founder of american gravy concepts, restaurant owner and chef... i have a couple of headlines here. california fast food restaurants have cut 10,000 jobs thanks to the states 20-dollar minimum wage and foxbusiness goes on to say... announced the closure of 48 restaurants in the golden state amid rising business costs. it is tough to do business in california. >> i think that number is just the beginning jobs lost, this is really devastating for california but they are talking about how great it is for the fortune 500 companies. these problems can be resolved by addressing crime, regulation and taxes. crime specifically so people go out to eat more and they feel more comfortable going out, regulations making it easier for these businesses to operate and to taxes. you want to put more money in the workers pockets, cut the taxes. it's outrageous in california. >> trace: it's crazy. that's the whole thing and people say what are they going to do. we don't know but they do the wrong thing time and time again. foxbusiness says this about body cameras. the parent company of retail stores such as t.j. maxx, marshals and home goods is equipping employees with body cameras to thwart theft. thieves don't care if you have a camera on you. they're not like does that guy have a camera because i'm not stealing a thing. there's 13 surveillance cameras. >> they don't stop when all the other consumers are sitting there capturing the smash and grabs on camera. i think the reason why these stores in california have body cameras isn't because they think anything is going to be done to punish the criminals or deter them. they are doing it because they don't want the lawsuits. they are afraid that these people will say this happened to me while i was in the store, he hurt me and i think what they want is just a document what's going on to protect their employees and to prevent liabilities. no one is getting punished for property crime and that's why it's spiking. >> trace: there's a woman named krystal cousins and she lives between two fire hydrants. they both got stolen. here's what she said. >> this is so crazy. it's mind-boggling that a fire hydrant would be stolen. out of all the thanks to steal. they backed the truck into it because i guess they couldn't lift it off. this one on the video they actually just lifted off. >> they do it fast. >> they are in and out in ten minutes. >> they've got it down to a system now. eighty-five fire hydrant have been stolen so far this year. they get the metal and they make some money off it apparently. >> a professional crime syndicate. now this is actually... but it almost hurts if you like this is by design because it's so pervasive and you have to ask yourself what is the end goal? i laid out how they can fix all the problems for small businesses. and i'm just a cook. >> trace: traffic lights, they are doing the same thing. they are going in anywhere that can get medal and anywhere they can get copper and sealing -- stealing the stuff. >> california has been stripped of whatever's left. everyone's fleeing, whatever's left the criminals are trying to scoop it up on the way out. this state needs to wake up and i have a warning for america whether it's crime, failing schools, high cost of living, destroyed jobs, you will become california if we give joe biden four more years. if you want to see what the future of america is going to look like under these left-wing policies, come and witness the misery index in california on every count, people have literally lost their quality of life. >> we have a panel coming on and one woman says you have to stay and fight and the other says you have to leave and get and go and run. thank you both. >> you were young the day you took these clips, why? why did you do it? we look at you and somehow we know the answer. it was faith and belief. it was loyalty and love. let us continue to stand for the ideals for which they lived and died. >> trace: president ronald reagan on the sacred ground gave one of the most famous speeches of his presidency, honouring the sacrifices of dj and renewing america's promise to carry on the legacy of our... now 80 years since those brave men stormed the beaches of normandy, we want your thoughts on his words. are we upholding his promise or have we forgotten their sacrifice? are we losing our patriotism? let us know. we will read your responses in the nightcap. plus should they stay or should they go? we will debate whether conservatives should stay and fight in blue states or head to the red next. because when you experience europe on a viking longship, you'll spend less time getting there and more time being there. viking. exploring the world in comfort. you know, i spend a lot of time thinking about dirt. at three in the morning. any time of the day. what people don't know is that not all dirt is the same. you need dirt with the right kind of nutrients. look at this new organic soil from miracle-gro. everybody should have it. it worked great for us. this is as good as gold in any garden. if people only knew that it really is about the dirt. you're a dirt nerd. huge dirt nerd. i'm proud of it!
