0 injection sites. job was told to "please help my son escape addiction the way you help hunter." we'll highlight that tonight. another way to bring insanity back to america. we'll be back in 24 hours. see you then. >> sean: welcome to "hannity." tonight we begin with an obvious fact. joe biden is the worst president in american history. he's the oldest sitting president in american history. now needless to say, he's not exactly aging gracefully. we know joe is a cognitive wreck and it's now obvious to everyone, even the democrats have to acknowledge it, the mob and the media are slowly acknowledging it. many top democrats are measuring the drapes at 1600 pennsylvania avenue, the white house, waiting in the wings as biden circles the drain. nobody is more obvious about his presidential ambitions than the one and only california governor gavin newsome. for years, newsome has been auditioning to be president. he took out ads you might recall in florida touting his great leadership. what he laughably called the true freedom state of california. all right, the reality is very different. california is by far the least free state in the entire country. without a doubt, it's one of the most expensive and difficult places to start a business, build a house, mow your lawn, power your home, feed your family and protect yourself. it's the only state in america that bans the future sale of gas powered cars. the only state to ban gas powered lawn equipment. the only state to ban plastic packaging. they have mask mandates, vaccine mandates, school closures, the toughest gun control regulations and i can keep going. newsome called the second amendment a suicide pact while surrounded by armed guards. naturally california is also the highest tax state in the country. yet this year newsome somehow faces a $25 billion budget def deficit. this is after a blue state bailout governmented california with a budget surplus. newsome spent it all and then some. in less than a year, by the way. now he's looking for cash. in fact, if passed, a proposed wealth tax will fine californians more moving out of the state. he wants them to pay a state income tax when they don't live in the state. under newsome, california is hemorrhaging people. for the first time in its history, the state's population is shrinking. in fact california has the highest demand for outband u-haul trucks to texas, florida, carolinas, tennessee. they're seeing an explosion in growth. california is unlistable for millions of americans but not because of its climate or geography. they're fleeing because of the high cost of living, homelessness and drug addiction, draconian covid policies. all of these problems, all of them, caused and perpetuated by democrats that have ruled the state now for decades. now gavin newsome thinks that he deserve as promotion. he wants to bring all of those special california freedoms to the rest of the country. now gavin newsome is a con man, he's a liar. he doesn't know how to management a budget, he doesn't know how to fix the housing crisis or lure business and development in to the state. obviously he has no idea what the word freedom means. here with much more, fox business host, charles payne is with us. so in california, they have a $13.5% state income tax on top of the federal tax of 40%. 53: 5% out of every dollars for taxes. so now if you manage to save money and by definition become wealthy, now they want another bite at the apple? when you die, they get another bite at the apple? how many times are they going to take a bite of the apple? >> well, they're working on one more really feverishly. you mentioned the massive exodus of people. the exit tax. this came up a couple years ago. they're trying to work it in the you leave the state they can still tax you. it's like the song, "hotel california." you can check out new time you like but your wallet can never leave. it's nuts. what they did a couple years ago, a few proposals. they started low, right? 30 million and down to single digit millions, this one is an extra wealth tax. they start with the billionaires first and take a big chunk out of their assets and add them up and in a couple years, it goes down to $50 million. you and i have seen this before. at some point it goes from 50 million to 20 million to 10 million to 1 million to $400,000. you cannot leave the state. you can't afford your electric vehicle, you can't afford a mortgage, you can't afford the taxes you laid out. too bad. you shouldn't have been here. here's the rub. what do they say justifies this? california wants to recoup the money that its invested in businesses and individuals. you know, that old canard that we hear from president obama, if you live on the sidewalk, the state is responsible for your success. forget about the taxes and the blood, sweat and tears and savings and sacrifice. the fact that you live in california means that you owe california and how dare you attempt to leave. >> sean: in the early years of my adult life, a lot of them where i was living paycheck to paycheck, i never looked at anybody else and thought that they should be paying for anything that i own or have in life and anyway. have we grown a portion of this society that feels that entitled that they want to empower and embolden their government to take from this group of people and redistribute it to that group of people? in other words, have enough americans now bought in to this redistribution capitalism, socialism model? is that now a prevalent point of view? have i missed the boat on this? >> i don't think we're there yet. but i got to tell you, president biden gave it his best shot last year. earned income tax credits for couples making $300,000, they took the ground swell and they took it up a few notches. government handing you money, paying you more money not to work than you would have made working. society with kids in school, they're trying to drive home this message. there's something about the ethos of this nation. they haven't been able to unwind it. they've done a good job. they chipped away at it, this entitledment notion and fairness notion. it goes hand and hand. somehow, someone has a lot more money than you do, something nefarious is afoot and the government will make it right. they take a big chunk from them, keep most for themselves and give you a few crumbs. like you, when i was growing up, if i saw someone -- i remember the first time i saw someone with initials on the sleeves of their shirt. i said i can't wait to make money. i'll do that. all my shirts have that, right? it's something i wanted to do. one of these drivers. when my daughter was born, my first child, don't you know how hard i worked? that's the motivation i wanted. the clock is ticking. if you live in california, you need to do these things right now. get out of the state, turn over your drivers license, register your cars in a different state. terminate all your club memberships, relocate your family to a new state, get your air looms, everything, photographs, take them out of the state right now. notify your friends that you're moving, holiday, birthday cards, send them from your new address outside california. change your professional affiliations and limit any physical contact in california. if you're making money, you think you're going to make more money. if you're bursting your butt to make american dream, move now if you can. >> sean: a couple things. in the years when i needed jobs and i never got hired by a poor person in my life. i got hired by people that could afford to pay me. every wealthy person, they have two qualities that are consistent. one is they're smart and two they're hard working. i would imagine the smart part will start exiting california if they implement this. agree or disagree? >> i agree. real quick, they're very frugal. right now this country, the most frugal are the wealthiest. they're trading down when they go shopping. they're smart. they save. they believe in the long-term. >> sean: charms payne, thank you. appreciate you being with us. time now we call the hannity hot seat. tonight's topic, california and the second amendment. beware of the old saying, as goes california, so goes the rest of the country. now, if that happens to this country, we become california, the rest of america, that fly-over country, the red state america, you can say bye-bye american pie. it's over, it's done. as you all know, the state is home to some of the most aggressive gun control laws in the country and yet according to gavin newsome, the second amendment is a suicide pact. americans just can't be trusted with that kind of freedom. of course, newsome said this. take a look while surrounded by armed guards who protect him 24/7. take a look. >> it's a disgrace. >> we found the governor here in monterey park not far from the dance studio where 11 were killed. >> nothing about this is surprising. everything about this is infuriating. >> california has the strictest gun laws in the u.s. >> i mean, the second amendment is becoming a suicide pact. >> there's many people in this country that support the second amendment. >> i have great respect. i have no idealogical opposition for someone to reasonably and responsibly owning firearms. >> sean: isn't that this thing about strict gun control laws, they reduce gun ownership for those that abide the laws. those that want to protect ebb themselves and their families but don't have the means to hire arm guards like the hollywood start and elite or have taxpayers pay for armed protection just like gavin newsome has. meanwhile, violent criminals, they don't by the very definition follow the law at all. they don't care what gun laws that california is passing. in fact, more people are murdered in california with guns than any other state in america. california is per capita murder rate is 5.6 per 100,000. similar to other states. newsome's state had a higher homicide rate than states like idaho, iowa, kansas, montana, nebraska, wyoming, the dakotas, utah. a handful of other states. many of those states have virtually in gun control laws at all whatsoever. they believe in freedom. on the local level, it's worse. san bernardino, they have a murder rate of 21 per 100,000. it's not just california. major cities across the country with strict gun control laws, some of the most dangerous places here on the face of the earth. washington d.c.'s murder rate is 28 per 100,000. detroit, get this, a whopping 41. detroit higher at 58 per 100,000. of course gun control advocates don't seem to know or understand the statistics or firearms in general. i'll prove my point. take a look. >> there's no legitimate reason to have an ar-15. you can't shoot deer with it. you can't -- it has no practical significance. what it does is it machifies, makes macho the people that possess it or look at me, i'm a big -- >> it's delightful. >> it's not a rifle. >> it's a rifle. >> what does ar stand for? so we're supposed to capitulate to gun grabbers like gavin newsome? there were three guys with guns, probably two more in front of him. >> i hold your -- okay. i hold your military service in great esteem as you know. i hold you in the highest regard. >> i appreciate that. i understand that. >> much more than my fair share of combat. i have been around with those weapons have torn the hell out of people. i'll tell you a quick story. mar-a-largo. i was a private dinner with president trump, 2018. he had just come back from visiting the survivors of the parkland school massacre. he sat down next to me, me and the president, he said i could not believe how wicked, how severe the wounds on those children were. i said mr. president, then why don't you pass a juvenile assault weapons ban in which you have to be -- you can't drink beer, you can't buy an assault weapon. he said that's a good idea. don jr. said no, it's the same family, same -- >> sean: let me step in, guys. hold on. by the way, ar is armor light rifle. that's just to let everybody know in our audience. let me stop you here. geraldo, it doesn't stand for assault rifle. that's not what it is. >> i said auto light -- >> probably have not fired one and compared it to the other weapons. the reality, whether it's a pistol a rifle, america's second amendment is clear. the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. >> how many is too many? >> sean: you have the likes of gavin newsome surrounded by armed guards. hollywood elite are surrounded by armed guards. the people that make this country great have the right to defend themselves and their property. by people trying to take away that right from them, they're denying them the very security that they the elite have. why would you support that? what would you do if somebody broke into your home? >> this is what -- this is what weapons look like. this is what they look like when the second amendment was passed. this is what they look like. >> sean: you're going to get arrested for having that. >> if you want to own this, you can own this. you can own this, load it, you can do whatever you want with it. what you don't want, though -- >> and i can ride to work in a horse. >> like alec baldwin, it will go off without pulling the trigger what do you do if somebody breaks into your house, geraldo?
