>> lawrence: it's hour three. it is 8:00, monday july 1. in two hours, the supreme court could release their decision on trump's immunity claim. shannon bream is standing by. >> katie: president biden plans to keep running, we'll have our own hollywood star dennis quaid coming up. >> steve: today on monday, brian is in north dakota having br breakfast with friends. final hour of "fox and friends" starting now. mornings are better with friends. >> katie: the supreme court is set to decide if former president trump is immune from criminal prosecution. >> steve: shannon bream is in front of -- where are you? shane sgls sgl just across the street from the supreme court. >> steve: last time there were shouting and bad words. >> protesters are not up yet. >> steve: supreme court saved the biggest for last. don't you think the supreme court will find a middle lane, you can be prosecuted if you do this, you can't if you do that. >> that is sort of how we feel. remember gorsuch said we are writing for the ages. this is critical torthe cases former president trump is facing. this sets precedence. they know the weight of this moment, during arguments it was he should be immune from everything or nothing. you got to think the court will find some level for immunity for acts while in office. >> lawrence: shannon, my question is, a lot of times we on the couch, they think the court is divided. they are 9-0 on a lot of decisions. does the court feel they should check the parties in don't get too political and go after political opponents. do they think that way or thinking in traditional way of the constitution. >> you bring up a great point. justice samuel alito said i worry where an incumbent president loses and they go after him politically. justice jackson said, i worry about coming up with a decision that says there is broad swath of immunity and we let somebody take the most powerful office in the world knowing there won't be liability for them on any ground. >> katie: there has been talk about the implications of this. it is generally about the presidency as a whole and what people can do in the future. it is last day of opinion, this has exen tended, your thoughts about wrapping up the work and coming to the decisions at the end of the year. >> we are overly into overtime, there have been plenty of 9-0 decisions. there are three other cases getting buried because of the immunity case. for people who have been critical about immunity case taking so long, this is lightning speed for this court. it was taken up in february, they heard it in april. that slows down every other case in the pipeline, this is quick by supreme court standards. the immunity decision weighs on everything they are trying to get done. >> steve: eyes of the legal world is on supreme court. check out shannon, it is sundays 2:00 p.m. on fox news channel. >> katie: and on at 10:00 to report what is happening. >> steve: meanwhile, brian kilmeade today is continuing our series where we look at top people who could be donald trump's vice presidential pick. prien brien is in west fargo, north dakota. the governor is there. >> brian: governor burgum is on the short list for president trump's running mate. this is great place, military o oriented place and a space force base out here and a celebrity just walked in. the governor came back to the diner, that is how happening this place is. something else about north dakota it does not get dark until 10:30. here is a moment i not only one to talk to the governor, i want to talk to catherine, his wife. this is about the people and candidate and what they would do if they got the number two slot, here is my interview, slice of the interview and catherine talks about her past addiction, welcome. >> we met through mutual friends, she was single and i had three kids. >> we have been together for a long time now. i'm so grateful i have been able to share this life with them. >> brian: then all of a sudden, doug burgum said i would like to get into politics. >> it was never on my radar. my life has changed in so many good ways. i struggled with disease of addiction to alcohol for 20 years. when he became governor, i had been in recovery for 15 years. i started talking about it and being face and voice of recovery. there is hope for recovery and that work has changed my life. >> we're at a moment in our country where this is an issue, disease of addiction is not republican or democrat, it is personal tragedy and national security, we know this fentanyl is coming from china and coming across southern border. >> lawrence: brian, after you had some time to recover from riding on horses -- >> katie: sitting. >> lawrence: you are sore. what is your big takeaway from doug burgum? do you think he is likeable and real? when you get to meet the politicians, are they real? are they someone that can attract the greater american public? >> brian: a couple of i think thises. you will see part two of the interview with catherine. we will post them all. he's real. he took the template our founding fathers wanted. go do your thing, whether in printing, being a farmer and your way of giving back is to serve. he's looking at the governor's mansion as place to serve. he realizes how much he likes it and wants to get back. his family has been serving in north dakota back to the 1880s. his grandmother was marching with susan b anthony and sitting bull. his mom got involved. his dad was a military man. he decided to go to stanford and learn business and silicon valley. put his money together and got investors, mortgaged the farm and bought a software company and with real estate, did it again. now how do i help. he knows energy, he knows farming and the rural business, he has the washington thing, he's got a lot. he would help trump get the job. would he be effective 1 he got the job? give him a job, he will execute. >> katie: seems like he understands suffering washington imposes on rural communities like in north dakota and some policy positions biden administration impechl welled through energy that makes things more expensive and harder toun are businesses. >> he is stopping pipelines and exploration and he is taking lands and making them no-go zone while asking horrible countries like venezuela to produce more oil and gas because he won't let north dakota and alaska do it. he gets insulted when regulations come from washington. there is so much regulation coming from washington to north da dakota, he has to hire outside law firms to comply with regulation. he wants to do more. that stuff got him to want to run for president and he's impressed with what ump tr could do. >> steve: mr. burgum is impressive himself and donald trump is looking for somebody who is impresive, but could be president. he's been chief executive of north dakota, he fills that bill. great profile, looking for more on him this hour. brian, stand by, we'll talk about the political stories. after a weekend of fall out, the democratic party is in it's00 after thursday night's debate, democrats think we could lose and down ballot democrats in the house and senate or state level could lose, as well. there is a panic. what we've seen over last 36 hours, the white house and campaign coalesced around a strategy to explain it away. what they are seeing is the debate was just a single blip. fundraising is strong, 5:30 today he'll calm don'mcddon't donors down. politico running this headline saying biden's family criticizes top advisors and pushing f their ouster at camp david meeting. he spent a week at camp david. campaign and white house put information out about how the president was p preparing for this debate and joe biden goes out and it is a complete disaster. now same are getting thrown under the bus. >> lawrence: politico said blame cast widely on staffers, including anita dunn, her husband, bob bower and the president's attorney and ron kla kain, who ran on depate prep in previous cycles. the family know him better than any of us, they witness him day-to-day. instead of taking accountability for putting their loved one in the way, they sent him to get filleted. that was not the fascinating part, it is the kamala piece. she was the insurance piece. joe is staying in the ravce. number two, if he decided to get down, stand down governors because guess what, kamala harris is going to get the war chest and joe biden will back her 100%, that shocked me big time. upons >> brian: i love that the "new york times" editorial page told him to step asatuide. how joe biden got a glide path to the election. if they had a vetting process, nobody stopped reagan going after ford, nobody stopped kennedy from going after carter. that is what happens. natural vetting process takes place and people make the choice. democrats like to push bernie sanders asway. they gave it to hillary clinton. mayo clinic was asked and say with joe biden, he can only work from 9:00 to 4:00 and after 4:00 it is being called sundowning takes place with seniors and they get in a state of confusion. that is what you witness. there are times when he is fine in the afternoon and times he is confused. people close to him are not picking up on it, they picked 9 9:00, they picked the timing, he picked the podium. his handlers don't understand how bad he is. senator fetterman said they thought it was a disaster when i was going, senator, you had a stroke, everybody knew you were recovering from a stroke and they thought you were going to recover. does anyone think president biden will recover from old age? pretty sure that will not be done. >> lawrence: the problem, pundits that are angry and outraged, they are not upset because of debate performance, they are upset because we finally know. they have seen the decline, they were telling us behind closed doors, he asked a lot of questions. >> katie: and berating people calling them cheap fakes. you had karine jean-pierre thanking media for driving that narrative and the debate happens and they are running like they never said it. >> steve: lawrence, i beg to differentiation a bit, i think democrats have been in denial, i think they believed it. over the last year, we've got eyes and tvs and 737 seen him d dissent great before our eyes. there are people in the demo democratic party who questioned his fit ness and that was slapped down. now everybody saw what happened and bill ackman said you blame jill biden, she is closest to him, she knows and helped conceal this russia, we keep him as far as from the press. over the last couple years, how many times have we seen the president? there is that tall blond kid from fox yelling questions and the president will go, i can't take any questions or i'm going to gets in trouble. get in trouble from his handlers. >> lawrence: david axelrod said joe biden, unless he decides to quit, it is issue is settled. the discussion that is going on now was timely a year ago, few wanted to have it, largely i irrelevant today. >> katie: that is why they are panicking, they understand they can't change much. dr. jill is on cover of vogue today and says she will not drop out of the race. >> brian: there is one guy being h honest, jamie raskin yesterday said rigorous conversations taking place on every level of the party. he was on msnbc. maybe they are not sold yet. he is trailing. the problem bouncing back from this debate is that is the best joe biden can do and 11 weeks in between. their best hope is july 11, they are trying to put trump in jail, their best hope is not give him immunity and that is baed for the country. >> lawrence: there is difference in having a bad debate and you can't, when you show up to the debate, you can't discuss policy, you are stuttering and freezing and looking in the air, you are not know present, your body is there, mind is not. >> katie: does not look like a commander-in-chief. >> steve: maybe i do a press conference and answer tough questions or maybe sit down for an interview. i have a good idea, do another debate and show that is joe biden. joe biden, do another debate, let's see how you do. >> katie: another debate scheduled fore september. >> brian: he had his chance, under trump's conditions next time. >> katie: carley is here. >> carley: that is on the radar of the white house. all u.s. military bases in europe are under heightened security alert. kevin cramer joined us earlier. >> you have the geopolitics of really big events coming up like the olympics and when you have the opportunity and intel there is unrest, we know the world is on fire right now. >> carley: bases in europe, defense officials fear an attack could happen over the next week or so. this security camera footage from columbia captured the moment two run away cows entered a store last month. katie pavlich called that is a bull in a china cabinet, i call it udder chaos. they left the store with considerable damage. a lot of moolah. and simone biles heading to her third olympic game after incredible floor routine alt it is u.s. olympic trials. ♪ >> carley: it is so fun to watch. simone biles husband, jonathan owens leading the crowd in a standing ovation after her performance. she had to bow out a couple years ago and now she is back. >> la >> steve: i have a feeling she will be on the cover of wheaties. >> katie: i hope she's there with a gold medal. >> lawrence: imagine cheering for your wife who is a better athlete for you. vice president kamala harris making an appearance at the bet awards. >> katie: fresh scrutiny for the v.p. after biden's debate deb debacle. and doesn't spy on your searchs and duckduckgo lets you browse like chrome, but it blocks cooi and creepy ads that follow youa from google and other companie. and there's no catch. it's fre. we make money from ads, but they don't follow you aroud join the millions of people taking back their privacy by downloading duckduckgo on all your devices today. when we're young, we're told anything is possible... ...but only a few of us go out and prove it. witness the greatness of anna hall on a connection worthy of gold: xfinity mobile. only xfinity gives you the most powerful mobile wifi network, with speeds up to a gig in millions of locations. and right now, xfinity internet customers can buy one unlimited line and get one free for a year. get the fastest connection to paris with xfinity. >> lawrence: president biden is set to return to the white house today. anxiety is growing over his reelection campaign. axios saying biden is engaged in 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. here to react harold ford jr. i tell people, you are the smartest democrat i know. how do you message that headline after the debate, you are only dependable for that chunk of time? >> thanks for having me on. i'd say a couple things. a lotz is at stake in the election. the biggest concern for voters, parti particularly independents is that president biden was too old. one time the country had the opportunity to see both candidates side by side, put aside whether president trump did a good job or not. foc focus is on acuity of ptz president biden. we hear the biden family saying they are all in, my family would be all in with me also. there is too much at stake to not understand how big of a gamble this is. never seen a party in light of what we know, he has fallen up and downstairs, fallen off bicycles and stages, he mumbles, mi mispronounces things. after the other night it is cemented in the minds of voters. i am not there yet, i hope we continue to have this confe conversation over the direction we are going to head. >> lawrence: yesterday waufrp i watching the bet award. >> i know you have been traveling across the country, what are you hearing?
