the weekend they are dominated by the area of low pressure, you won't be a wash—out and there will be some spells of warm, june sunshine but longer spells of rain in some of them heavy and it will be feeling a bit warmer. that's it. you can keep up with all the latest developments on the bbc website, but now let's join our colleagues for the news where you are. have a good evening. hello, and welcome to sportsday — i'm gavin ramjaun. five days and counting until england's first match at the euro's — we'll be live with the camp in just a moment for the latest news we'll be live too with scotland — as they get a long overdue injury boost ahead of their first match on friday and a big night awaits for britain's daryll neita — as she goes for gold at the european athletic championships... also coming up on sportsday... no problems for emma raducanu in nottingham — her comeback goes to plan as she starts her grass season in style and we'll meet the some of britain's newest mums who are balancing their new life with aspirations of competing in the olympics and paralympics this summer. i wouldn't say i am back to where i would want to be, and i thought i would be back by now. hello, and welcome along to sportsday. just a few more days now for england to wait, before theirfirst game of the european championship after touching down in germany, and arriving at their base in blankenhain. the pressure*s on, too, manager gareth southgate saying if his side aren't successful — he's likely to leave. big moments ahead in the next fortnight for players like trent alexander—arnold. the liverpool man, potentially in the frame to start in the midfield this weekend. scotland get their campaign under way first though, with the tournament opener against the hosts germany. manager steve clarke — ambitious for his side and their chances of making it past the groups for first time. and to live to jane dougall — in garmisch—partenkirchen for us at the scotland training base. but first to andy, who has been across the england session for us. andy, do we know anything more about the likely starting 11 this weekend? gavin, first of all, on what happened today, is not often england has an open training session, but thatis has an open training session, but that is what they did this afternoon at a state of injena, about 30 minutes from their team hotel. they were watched by a crowd of enthusiastic schoolchildren, nuts of positivity. what could we tell from the training session is a big question, is to say. encouraging news is that all 26 members of england's squad took part in that training session, that includesjohn stones. stones had to be replaced at half—time during england's defeat at iceland last week after he picked up a knock so the fact she was back with roche any obvious ill effects is clearly encouraging and bodes well for his chances of being fit to play. it was also good to see luke shaw back in training as he continues his recovery from long—term injury, though he did not seem to take part in any of the contact training, so he clearly still has some work to do to get back to full fitness. the big selection that emma as far as gareth soaked it is who will partner declan rice in midfield. he has various options, there is kobbie mainoo, conor gallagher, also trent alexander—arnold who was so impressive in england's two warm—up matches last week. still a few permutations for garth southgate to work through ahead of that opening match against serbia on sunday. find match against serbia on sunday. and ahead of that sunday against serbia before matches against denmark and slovenia stop more euros to build up on the bbc sport website. that's it for me and the team here, thank you for watching, and we see you again next time. hello there, good evening. well, it's been another day of sunny spells with some showers. blustery, chilly northwesterly winds blowing towards north sea—facing coasts once again. the air is cold for the time of year certainly, but it still feels pleasantly warm — the best of the sunshine, the sun just as strong as it is everyjune. and there'll be more in the way of sunshine probably tomorrow — the driest—looking day of the week. not completely dry, still a few showers around, and certainly a chilly start to the day. now we've got high pressure building in from the west, killing off a lot of those showers. and the winds will be a lot lighter — and they're falling lighter overnight tonight. now, it's likely to be just as cold tonight as it was last night, when some of our temperatures drop back to low single figures. there will be some clear spells developing, a lot of dry weather around. widely, we'll see 5—9 celsius — but as i said, in some of the rural sheltered spots, temperatures will be a lot lower than this. so, it's a cold start to wednesday morning, but once again, quite a bit of early sunshine around. variable amounts of cloud, and the cloud will tend to build through the day. most of the showers will be across eastern areas of england, further north and west, then it should be largely dry, perhaps 1—2 very isolated showers. lighter winds, but temperatures still disappointingly low for the time of year, just 12—17 celsius. now, as we look into thursday, we start to see a few changes. so it's already a wet start to the day across northern ireland — this rain will be pushing eastwards across wales, pushing through into central areas of england, eventually reaching northern scotland and possibly southeast england, but not until we get to the end of the afternoon. brisk winds up through irish sea coasts, but it's milder, particularly out towards the north and the west there, with temperatures rising back up into the mid—teens in celsius. low pressure remains very much in charge, too, as we head through friday and the weekend. so, there'll be showers, there'll be longer spells of rain around at times, and brisk south—westerly winds blowing. but the air will be milder — it will be especially milder by night as well, with temperatures rising by day, back up to the seasonal average. won't be raining all the time, there'll also be some sunny spells around, and it will feel pleasantly warm in the best of the sunshine, of course, but some unsettled, milder weather as we head through the second half of this week. bye—bye
