What could be the states largest storm in history. But just cones. All this stuff you see, the impacts will be broader than that, particularly with respect to Storm Surge on the West Coast of florida. I know that theres a lot of folks who have who have evacuated, who are in those areas, and you absolutely could get whacked with really serious Storm Surge, really almost every place on the West Coast of florida could get major Storm Surge. Today, i held a joint call with state legislative leaders and the cabinet to brief them on floridas efforts on the storm and about our resources that are being offered and being utilized by the state of florida. We also did a similar call to floridas congressional delegation, have also spoken to the president and the fema administrator. Weve had our requests approved for prelandfall. We will get a landfall. Major Disaster Declaration approved once the storm hits. And that will be things like Debris Removal and individual assistance. We still have 51 counties that are under a State Of Emergency. Theres pretty much warnings or watches on almost the entire Florida Peninsula. A lot of a lot of tension is being paid to the Storm Surge, on the West Coast of the Florida Peninsula and rightfully so because thats probably the most serious threats to peoples lives and property. But the storm will go across the Florida Peninsula and he will exit on the East Coast of florida into the atlantic ocean. Likely still as a hurricane. So that will bring significant impacts all across the state so just be prepared for that. That may mean mobile homes, even interior, other structures that may not be Hurricane Proof that dr. Create hazards, reverse, other bodies of water, as we have more in and near flooding so this is not just an event about the West Coast of florida. There will be where the initial impacts and probably the most significant with the impacts will not be limited there. So we are here we are the florida horse park, we have Staging Areas around different parts of the state and there are different sites that are doing different things. For example you got lake city, a lot of the Utility Line Man there that are staged. Weve got a lot of people staged at the Tampa Bay Area for utility and other things but this one right here is really good, annexing from the storm but we fully anticipate being able to move people where they need to go very quickly once the Storm Passes and you have we have different partners at the state contracts with they have personnel i think as you hear schmidt as you see they came out here. This is where they are and unable to respond. Weve got massive amounts of equipment here, things, land, air, see vehicles, suppliers, bucket trucks, you name it. The stuff is here. So this is just one of many sites that are ready to go. You know, we spend a Week Reason Way we do speak State Of Emergency we did over the weekend on saturday, we knew the steering for more likely to end of the middle of the week of the earliest because you want to start amassing these resources and thats what weve done. I think its been really, really important. So on this property you got over 2000 pieces of equipment including a lot of pumps, generators, lite plants, display boards, Rest Room thrillers, laundry trailers, forklift, airconditioning units, electrical equipment, water houses, montrealers and rural 400 personnel here including rigourous Agreement Operators pumps rules and drivers, Fuel Trucks are also here to be deployed as nee needed. Florida dem is currently in the process of completing 1200 missions so far youre looking at deploying Hundreds Of Thousands of shelfstable meals, hundred of thousands of Water Bottles im a kind of thousands of sandbags, a lot of parts and a lot of generators. And many other things. And so that is being resourced to the counties and of course we also have Staging Areas which will do with our parts once the Storm Passes. We have utilized Flood Protection devices in areas to protect against Storm Surge. Weve now deployed more than 11,000 feet of those Tiger Dams thats really important to protect hospitals, Wastewater Facilities and electrical infrastructures. Of course weve been outfitting counties for years now with starling internet so that will be available to be used as needed. In terms of fuel, we amassed a lot of fuel before this particular emergency. We actually had it for hel helene, didnt really use it need to use this for that. We have 268 cal 2,060,000 gallons of diesel, thats just from the states, you know, you still have the fuel at the ports that are being brought in. But then we also have another one to 2 Million gallons of both Diesel And Gas that are currently in route to the state. No theres been a lot of lines at gas stations, you know, rbc have on an inordinate demand for fuel, much more than we typically have been. Whats happening is theres longline Glen Mcgregor stations run out of fuel who like mark were also working with companies like Circle K gates, racetrack, Wawa Maxx Yehl and walmart to ensure Fuel Trucks are working 24 7 Keep Fuel delivered as it comes into our apartment there is no longer fuel coming in the some of the West Coast ports like Tampa And Manati but it got a lot of fuel there on dockside that is going to continue to be used. And i spoke with both parts of Tampa And Manati today and it got a lot of fuel. So thats continuing to happen and then fuel has been coming into the East Coast ports, thats probably going to stop soon maybe its already stop now but again theres a lot of fuel thats on hand that can be brought out on the dockside and that is what were looking to continue to see happen. Debris removal from Hurricane Helene, i think most people know that counties in the cities, they have contracts for Debris Removal after a storm. There was not necessarily a great job all around on some of the contractors in places like manati, sarasota, hillsboro counties. We saw this debris once it was clear, there was some type of storm this weekend. We decided to create a State Support Debris mission and what weve done is weve mandated the landfills are open 24 hours, we had one county where they didnt have anyone there manning it. We open it up forcibly, make sure that the debris can be brought in. So Thats Florida Department of transportation. Name now deployed over 300 them trucks so that and theyre going to continue to do it, all Day Today and as long as they can tomorrow before we start to feel impacts from the onset of the storm. So as of this morning, Florida Department of transportation has moved removed over 1300 truckloads of debris and a little over 48 hours among thats a huge, huge amount. Now there was issues the mystery was probably in the Pamela Conti beaches, he also had manati the Barrier Islands like that of Maria Like that was our initial focused. Sarasota also had a lot of debris on their Barrier Islands and i guess there Contractor Kind of left them holding the ball so weve now searched over 100 vehicles between manatee and sarasota, working to step in where the contractors left off. Were going to continue doing that again all The Way until its no longer safe to do so. Weve made a huge dent in this, the more they really can get picked up the last damages going to happen whether thats going into the gulf of mexico, whether its projectiles that go into other buildings. We have hundreds of State Search and rescue personnel, total of 36 teams embedded into potential impact sights along the West Coast to begin immediate Rescue Operations as soon as the storm passed should the need and are arise. And a lot of people have left hello expander 8000 very, very so soon. We have a total of 34 Search And Rescue aircraft. Weve got a lot of support from other states and we thank them for that mix we have 450 tactical vehicles including 140 highway high real vehicles, Area Water and ground national Guard Searchandrescue teams. This is probably the largest national Guard Mobilization in advance of the storm in florida history. We also have the Florida State Guard, ten maritime crews, three High Water you tvs. Two uh 15 Cut And Toss crews, two amphibious Rescue Crews and almost 200 Florida State Guard soldiers. Linemen and Power Restoration resources are being mars marshaled. We know over 43,000 linemen who are being brought in from as far away as california. So we appreciate them for prior Power Restoration. We also assisted with graphic accepting families of residents to shelter with them as they are all built to withstand cat five hurricane winds the outside of flood zones. Florida disaster fund, this was activated after ian, adalia and helene. If you want to support for Milton Go To Florida Disaster fund. Org. This is really, really significant way to help people. You should be executing your plan now. If youre going to get out, get out now. You have time today nine and maccam will be running out very shortly if you wait any longer we have done the shoulders on the life or and the i75, Veterans Expressway and Suncoast Parkway tolls have been waived. This can also be used as evacuation routes. I four is doing a lot better today than yesterday, still traffic but that is it, thats the norm for that. We havent had a lot of news out of the region that is hovering over right now what were trying to find out what their experiences are like there and its expected to slam into the Gulf Coast of florida with the are still cleaning up from helene. No that debris could go flying so they have a huge effort underway right now to try to clean up as much as they can so that they dont have to deal with a lot of debris in the Air Base on the last hurricane. This was actually the Storm Surge from helene that came in and brought all of these with it. If you look pass into that garage theres mounds of sand as well. What weve noticed is residents and locals are doing the absolute final preparation. Youre going to these and grabbing sandbags making them. After he got to talk with noah. He is a guy that actually looks inland by his to be coming out and making sandbags because what he relied and a lot of people never seen this before and you dont know what theyre doing then back to making sandbanks. And what you do as fema sets up a hotline in my people start to apply for immediate cash funds and then you see the Government Fund local government they didnt a talk or yesterday, her mother is still missing. And we lost less than 232 people have died in the situation and im listening to governor the center is talking about the prepositioning of all of these assets, Blackhawk Toppers and all of these things that are ready to go and im just how you respond to that . Why was not the case with helene . If you give me a chance to answer i will, the were assets people positions before helene. And that happens at every storm in coordination with fema and others and look, what we wont do is play to protect because this is too serious. I watch 1500 people die in Hurricane Katrina and rita. So this may be cute, market may be a Sound Bite for you but this is where 11 what we have to do is martha thats what im saying. Okay. Were not going to drop each other. Martha go ahead. Were going to make sure that people understand that there is aid of their neighbors in free to apply for. Were going to help with recovery, were going to help rescue people earmarked you saw the National Guard out there for me you saw the Coast Guard out there, rescuing people him against the federal government coming in to help cities and states. And were going to be there for florida when this happens. And so when you talk about repositioning of electrical line workers, all The Way from california to florida, that is the federal government stepping up to help and thats how it happens in these hurricanes. But the misinformation that can be dangerous as when you dont provide people with the information of where to go get resources, to apply for fema a, how to safely dispose of your debris. All of those things are critical in what we should do is make sure we are giving out accurate information. Martha well weve been doing that all week and we have spoken with people who say that they were calling fema and they were getting a, you know, go online and register for 750 to be sent to you and they said i dont have a computer, and a half anyway to get online and to a information. This is not what im and fema has boots on the ground going doortodoor so people can apply with fema. Martha thats what their reality was in terms of what their experience was, you dont speak for everything a person i hope other people had a much better extremes than dated. But obviously its a tough time. We do only to pull together and help these people in every single way we can, this meant an amazing private effort as well on behalf of a number of veterans who do this work through rubicon and save our allies in all of that so that been a huge, huge help as well and we hope that florida fares well.
