path of destruction, we will make sure they get there, and we have shown enormous progress in reaching that goal. >> kevin: major spielman, always a pleasure, the best to you and your countrymen as we continue to follow this story. >> thank you so much. >> arthel: absolutely the best, sir. absolutely. 2:00 p.m. on the east coast, 9:00 p.m. in israel. a special edition of "america reports". i'm arthel neville. we are waiting to hear from president biden. meanwhile, here with my friend kevin corke. >> kevin: great to be with you. we are anticipating hearing from president biden, he'll be apparently making a statement and commenting on the first wave of hostages being released. he is in nantucket, massachusetts, lucas tomlinson is there, we'll go to that as soon as we have it. but arthel, kick it off with trey yingst. >> arthel: we are going to wait for the president but first trey yingst in southern israel, we have heard a lot from the idf. and some of the hostages have been released and everyone in israel, they are breathing a sigh of relief because of it, the war is far from over. friday night, 9:00 p.m., an air of joy but yet still a lot of distrust. tell us -- tell us more, trey. >> arthel, absolutely. we are here in front of the air base in southern israel. there are a group of israelis behind us in this air base now, and they are receiving treatment. we understand that two out of the 13 people who were released were taken to medical facilities immediately by helicopter, likely in need of more medical care. as a straight deal, there were ten thai hostages released and one filipino national. all of this was taken place amid a lot of uncertainty in the air here. the ceasefire went into effect at 7:00 a.m. local time. and almost immediately it was violated by hamas, there were two rocket alerts in southern israel. and raised questions if the ceasefire was going to hold. but since this morning it's quiet across gaza. an opportunity for both sides to relax after 49 days of conflict. with that said, the israelis remain on high alert. they understand that there will be intense days of battle ahead this. is simply a four-day pause in the fighting to get an estimated 50 israeli hostages out in exchange for 150 palestinian prisoners. and seen images from jerusalem and from the west bank, palestinian prisoners are starting to be released. and this indicates everything at least so far is going according to plan. with that said, the israelis say they have not yet received the list of hostages that are supposed to be released tomorrow. so, the release of hostages for tomorrow could be delayed despite the fact that 13 were released today. and so it's a lot of fluid parts moving in this story. we continue to follow the developments on the ground. you heard from rear admiral daniel hagari earlier today, the israeli military spokesman who discussed preparations to continue fighting. there's a real understanding that hamas and islamic jihad will use this lull in battle to basically reorganize and get ready for the fighting ahead. but again tonight, israel confirming and breathing a sigh of relief after 13 of their hostages were released by hamas as part of this larger deal negotiated by the qataris. arthel, kevin. >> arthel: we'll take a pause for that bit of good news right there. trey yingst reporting in southern israel. thank you, trey. kevin. >> kevin: good news indeed, i'll say. go to lucas tomlinson travelling with the president, as we await the remarks of the hostages released. big day in nantucket, lucas. >> it sure is. any minute we are expecting to hear from president biden, setting up at a local hotel, the president will speak after the first 24 hostages have been released from gaza, although it's notable, kevin, it does not include any americans. up to ten american hostages that are being held inside gaza by hamas and the president we heard the first statement, he said this deal should include some americans. they are expecting up to three american citizens to be released among the first 50 over the next 3 or 4 days. so we are waiting president biden's remarks in nantucket any minute now. >> kevin: great stuff. we will touch base with you. we continue our coverage, your reaction to what lucas is just telling us, the president expected to speak. what might he say in a circumstance like this, and i think it's also fair to ask, does he know more than he'll be sharing with the american people? >> well, the last question, i certainly hope he knows a lot more than he's going to share with the american public. the big question is, like you started out, what is he going to say. i mean, this administration has been very clear from the very beginning that they wanted to halt or slow down the israeli offensive, they wanted to focus on getting the hostages out. but the number one objective, and also the best for u.s. american citizens peace and security long-term as well as israelis is the defeat of hamas. i hope he says something about that. >> arthel: captain sadler, i would like to find out what you think in the meantime as we wait to hear what the president is going to say. what do you make of the fact that hamas has not yet released a list of the next wave of hostages that are supposed to be released tomorrow. >> there's two pieces of this. in the last few days, you have members of the white house, the national security adviser admitting that they think hamas has subcontracted out their terror to a lot of other groups and criminal organizations inside gaza, so they have lost control of the hostages. that could be one part. the other is it was no secret that hamas on october 7th intentionally going and getting elderly people as well as women and children, young children, and taking them back to hold them hostage so that they could run the clock and hold off an israeli offensive. so, there's two things at play here and probably a little bit of both. >> kevin: i want to dive in and ask you about something that we have been covering for the last several hours and it's been happening for quite a bit of time. 73 attacks on u.s. forces in iraq and syria, dating back to october 17th. why is this happening, what does that mean, and could this expand the conflict in the region? i think that's got to be a legitimate concern. >> the first thing, the conflict has spread beyond gaza and that's by the design of iran, the finance, as well as ideological lead. you had a u.s. destroyer shoot down again houthi launch from yemen in the red sea. so it's already happening. what's really driving this beyond iran's active support is the fact the united states has not for two years acted more forcefully and gone after the iranian leadership in and working physically in iraq and syria, going after those leadership as was done before, so they have an effect, the type of language and activity the iranian people understand, and we have been lucky we have not seen more american casualties. >> arthel: captain sadler, congressman issa basically shared your sentiments saying iran is the head of the snake that needs to be cut off and says the international community, the leaders are saying yes, we support some sort of aggressive action toward iran to stop them in their tracks. if america has that support, why is america not acting? >> i think for the biden administration, i think politically here domestic politics is driving some of their hesitancy. it's no secret a large part of the party does support hamas, unfortunately, or at least the palestinian movement that's misdirected and misled right now, and so i think domestic politics is part of the answer. the other is what international leadership says publicly is one thing but the private support and facilitation of a lot more sharper military action, that's what i would be looking for and perhaps we are starting to see some of that. >> kevin: if i may piggy back off that question, we talked earlier about this idea going all the way back to 1979, if you want to take it that far back, it is a complicated, a complicated relationship in the region because we do have partners in the region and yet we have to at some point you would imagine finally and be determined to end what has been happening at iran all the way back to the fall of shah, is that overstating what the u.s. policy is and/or should be. >> i think it's important to take what is very complex on its surface and boil it down to its simplest points and iran is that simplest point. as long as there is a fanatical religious leader in power in iran, we are not going to see the end of the radicalization or attacks on american innocents in the future. victory in hamas is a small piece, a small step to that and i hope the administration can support israel to that end until it actually is achieved. >> kevin: and i think it's critical and people have said as much and you would agree to separate the leadership in iran from the people of iran, there is some great people there. always a pleasure, arthel, over to you. >> arthel: the stage is set for the president to speak, we are going to squeeze in a quick break before he begins. stay tuned. stage as the hamas terrorists have released 24 hostages, 13 israelis, ten thai citizens, one filipino citizen. president biden expected to make remarks on this very tenuous situation any moment now. but right now, lucas tomlinson is travelling with the president, spending the weekend in nantucket for this thanksgiving holiday weekend. what are you hearing? do you have an idea of what the president says? i know we can't say much, but tone or anything you can tell us? >> arthel, officials say president biden is going to be thanking the amir of qatar and egypt and benjamin netanyahu, and about the president's remarks, about the 24 hostages released, it's important to note 200 hostages remain and up to ten american citizens, including the 3-year-old american girl, miss, excuse me, abigail, and it's notable we are receiving word four more attacks on u.s. forces in the middle east on thanksgiving day, that brings the total to over 72 attacks, 73 exactly in the last month. so we'll also have to see if president biden will address that as well. these increased attacks on u.s. forces. attacks by iranian proxy groups, those attacks continue. perhaps we will see more airstrikes in the near future. arthel. >> kevin: lucas, i'll take it from here, inside the two-minute warning. quickly, what are you hearing about a possible second wave if at all. do we have any news on that front? >> certainly officials here at the white house want to see more american hostages released, see more hostages released. remember, this deal was for 50 hostages to be released. so far, 24. about 50% of the way there, and this is a four-day truce. some time in the next day or two we should be getting the rest of the hostages out and you see the notebook up on the lectern, the second wave of u.s. airstrikes, if that's what you meant, as the attacks ramped up i asked john kirby a few days ago, are you seeing any of these attacks decreasing against u.s. forces. he said the opposite. the attacks have gone up. so perhaps more american airstrikes in the region. >> kevin: as we look at the lectern, looks like the president about to speak shortly. in circumstances like this, you usually will bring the notebook out, and then after that, usually they will make sure that the room is clear, or in this case, that the president is prepared to walk in, they'll usually make remarks fairly quickly and then leave unless this is a circumstance where they want to throw us a bit of a curveball and take a question or two. any sense on that end, lucas, that someone may be able to shout maybe the pool and get a question to the president? >> that's right, kevin. the pool is gathered and for our viewers, that means some of the reporters travelling with the president, certainly a number of print reporters there and some of our other tv colleagues will be in the room. so, after the president makes remarks we'll see if he takes any questions. and here is the president. >> all right. yesterday families all across america gathered together with their loved ones and to give thanks. we must be thankful for in america. the food on our table, the family and loved ones on our homes, and many blessings that come from living in the greatest nation on earth. today we can also be thankful of the families being recruited and reunited with loved ones who have been held hostage for nearly 50 days. beginning this morning under a deal reached by extensive u.s. diplomacy, including numerous calls i've made from the oval office to leaders across the region, fighting in gaza will halt for four days. this deal also is structured to allow a pause to continue for more than 50 hostages to be released. that's our goal. this morning i've been engaged with my team as we began the first difficult days of implementing this deal. it's only a start, but so far it's gone well. earlier this morning 13 israeli hostages released, elderly woman, a grandmother, and mothers with young children, some under the age of 6 years old. separately, several thai nationals and filipino nationals were also kidnapped by hamas on the 7th, they were released as well. all these hostages have been through a terrible ordeal. and this is the beginning of a long journey of healing for them. the teddy bears waiting to greet those children at the hospital are a stark reminder of the trauma these children have been through. and at such a very young age. jill and i, jill is with me here, keeping them in our prayers today. today is a product of hard work and works of engagement. i along with my team have work and the clock to secure release. we saw this with the result of two american hostages in late october, followed by the release of two israeli hostages. i've consistently pressed for a pause in the fighting for two reasons. to accelerate and expand humanitarian assistance going into gaza and to facilitate release of hostages. over the past several weeks, i have spoken repeatedly with amir of qatar and others, and thank you all three leaders. i spoke with the amir and president el-sisi, and today's release the start of a process. we expect more hostages to be released tomorrow, and more the day after and more the day after that. over the next few days we expect dozens of hostages will be returned to their families. we also remember all those who are still being held, and renew our commitment to work for their release as well. two american women and 1 4-year-old child remain missing. we will not stop until we bring them home and answer to their whereabouts. i remain in contact with the leaders of qatar, egypt and israel to make sure it stays on track and every aspect of the deal is implemented. you know, this extended pause in the fighting brings a critical opportunity to deliver much needed food, medicine, water and fuel to the civilians in gaza and not wasting one single minute. since my trip to israel last month, focused on delivery of humanitarian assistance to gaza in coordination with the united nations and red cross. i spoke with my special envoy for an update and asked him to monitor our progress hour by hour and keep me personally informed. from the beginning, we put in place mechanisms to prevent hamas from diverting these supplies. and we are continuing that effort. to make sure aid gets to the people who need it. more than 200 trucks arrived at a crossing point in egypt into gaza today. these trucks carry food and medicine, as well as fuel and cooking gas. the fuel will be used not only to power the trucks delivering this lifesaving supplies, but for desalinization, hospitals, water wells and bakeries, and hundreds more trucks in position as well ready to enter gaza to support the innocent palestinians who are suffering greatly because of this war that hamas has unleashed. hamas doesn't give a damn about them. we also look to the future as we look to the future we have to end this cycle of violence in the middle east. we need to renew our resolve to pursue the two-state solution, where israel list and palestinians can one day live side-by-side in a two-state solution, equal measure of dignity. two states for two peoples, and more important now more than ever. hamas unleashed this terrorist attack because they fear nothing more than israelis and palestinians living side-by-side in peace. you know, to continue down the path of terror and violence and killing and war is to give hamas what they seek, and we can't do that. so today let's continue to be thankful for all the families who are now and those who will soon be brought together again. i want to once again thank you the amir of qatar, president sisi of egypt and benjamin netanyahu to make what they have done possible and for continued leadership as we all keep working to implement this deal. and over the coming days i'll remain engaged with leaders throughout the middle east as we all work together to build a better future for the region. a future where this kinds of violence is unthinkable. a future all children in the region, every child, jewish, muslim, christian, israeli, palestinian, arab, grow up knowing only peace. that's what we do, we are waiting now, just a matter of i thought maybe as soon as by the time i got here, but in the next hour or so we'll know what the second wave of releases are. and i'm hopeful that it's as we anticipate. so, thank you all for listening. i'll take a few questions. >> mr. president, when will the first american hostages be released? >> we don't know when that will occur but we are going to be expected to occur, and we don't know what the list of all the hostages are and when they will be released but we know the numbers, they are going to be released. it's my hope and expectation it will be soon. >> of the time the americans are unaccounted for, do you know all of their conditions, are they alive? >> we don't know their conditions. >> how long do you expect this war is going to take, and have you encouraged prime minister benjamin netanyahu to set a timeline? >> i have encouraged the prime minister to -- to focus on trying to reduce the number of casualties while he is attempting to eliminate hamas, which is a legitimate objective he has. that's a difficult task, and i don't know how long it will take. my expectation and hope is that as we move forward the rest of the arab world in the region is also putting pressure on all sides to slow this down to bring this to an end as quickly as we can. >> mr. president, do you trust hamas -- >> truce could be extended by a few days or more? >> i think the chances are real. >> mr. president, members of your party would like to see conditions placed on aid to israel. the what is your view on that, they would like to see adoption -- >> well, i think that's a worthwhile thought but i don't think if i started off with that we would have got where we are today. we have to take it a piece at a time. >> do you trust hamas? >> i don't trust hamas to do anything right. i only trust hamas to respond to pressure. >> mr. president, you said you were hoping to get cooperation from arab leaders. what haw hearing from them? >> i'm hearing a lot but not speak to it right now. there's an overwhelming desire on the part of the region to, let me back up. i cannot prove what i'm about to say. but i believe one of the reasons why hamas struck when they did is they knew that i was working very closely with the saudis, and others in the region, to bring peace to the region by having recognition of israel and israel's right to exist. you may recall when we did the g20 a little while ago i was able to get a resolution, a statement passed through there saying we are going to build a railroad from riyadh through the middle east into saudi arabia, israel, etc., and all the way up to europe, not the railroad, but an underground pipeline and then railroad. the whole idea, overwhelming interest and i think most arab nations know it and coordinating with one another to change the dynamic in the region for longer term peace. and that is what i'm going to continue to work on. thank you all very, the reason for hamas striking on october 7th is because i was close to building a peace bridge with saudi arabia and the united states. let's bring lieutenant colonel darin gaub, an army veteran and blackhawk helicopter pilot. always good to talk to you, sir. what do you make of the president's remarks and as he also said he is expecting a list of the second wave of hostages to come out within the next hour. what do you make of the president's remarks? >> yeah, thanks, arthel. i don't think anybody is surprised that joe biden was going to come out and take credit for this in some way. so, that was entirely expected. i don't know how the negotiations went with him, but the peace process with saudi arabia and other nations that started under the abraham accords and he can only take credit for continuing those at best. unfortunately, this is -- this conflict is largely a result of his own failed foreign policy which he did not want to take credit for that. so i did not hear anything that surprised me. but ultimately, it's very difficult for anybody to not be excited and you know, want to see these families reunited, that's a great thing. the concern becomes the cost to israel and what this message actually is towards the greater middle east when it comes to things like hostage taking and terrorist organizations. so, that i saw, no big surprises here. >> kevin: colonel, let me dive in here. i would love to ask a question if i might, arthel. we heard the president take credit for his working efforts to secure not just the release of some of the hostages but also to get foreign aid into gaza. he mentioned the frightful conditions for those who are the innocents in this, meaning not the leadership of hamas, but the palestinian civilians. i'm curious, how does this happen where you can make a broad guarantee or at least say that you are working to ensure that aid, not just from this country, but all over our globe, global partners and others, trying to make sure that the people have a chance to live in a circumstance where they are now beset by war and yet it would seem to me that hamas would have their hands waiting to get them on that aid. yes? >> yeah, kevin, as soon as your hands are off this international aid flowing into southern gaza, you truly lose control and where it goes. and we know one thing consistent about hamas, they are going to use everything to their personal advantage and if the palestinians or the israelis or anybody else pays the price, they are fine with that because that's just the way these organizations work. so, i guess to make a guarantee of the arrival of aid into the appropriate hands at this point is a risky statement and i don't think he should be saying that because he can't guarantee it personally. >> arthel: colonel, one of the other things, if i'm going to go, kevin, excuse me. colonel, one thing the president cannot guarantee is exactly when the american hostages will be released. he was asked about it. he was cagey, understandably, but were we expecting to hear some sort of more reassurance that would be more of a guarantee? he has really, he touted his personal engagement as recently as this morning. were you expecting the president to hear more specifics about the americans being held, or would that perhaps derail any deal that may be in place? >> arthel, it's possible there are parts of this deal we are not aware of still getting worked out. so, it's best to give them the time to let that be realized, one way or the other. i think if joe biden had a guarantee of any kind that he knew when it would be released and some of the names that he would have shared that and taken credit for it. but again, you are dealing with an organization like hamas and their leadership that's actually in other countries than in gaza and israel. you have to take them at their word and their word is not really worth very much. and so this ceasefire is tenuous at best. and should be treated as so. >> arthel: we should, as you started out, by saying, celebrate the small victories and they are very important. they are big to the families who now have their loved ones home, although there is a long road ahead to full recovery and we do wish them well and of course, the president, we did not -- he didn't say much, he made sure to make sure that we knew that he is personally engaged and i guess if he didn't say anything he would have been criticized. whether he did say a lot or not, he did say something. always good to see you. thank you very much, sir. we are going to hostages being released overseas. he said among other things during his comments, that hamas does not give a damn about the palestinian people. he also said that he wants our country to work with our global partners to continue to fight for a two-state solution that will provide freedom and dignity for all in the region. he also took credit for securing the release of not just the hostages but also in allowing the aid to get to the very needy folks in gaza. we want to welcome in lucas tomlinson, he's travelling with the president in nantucket on more on what you heard and saw. >> kevin, right off the top, president biden said that so far this is just a start about these hostages being released but said so far it has gone well, so the president approving so far the operation to get 24 hostages out of gaza, but it's very notable that none of the hostages released were american citizens. and during the question and answer period, it was very candid, very candid remark by president biden when asked when are we going to see american hostages being released from gaza. president biden said i don't know. he said he hopes soon. and of course, one of those hostages, she just turned 4 years old today, abigail, people want to see american hostages come out as well, and there is still over, remind people, kevin, over 200 hostages that remain in gaza, so while this is a good first start, there is certainly many more hostages that need to be released, loved ones are praying and hoping to be reunited. president biden as you mentioned, part of his remarks, not sure if he went off script a bit, but said hamas does not give a damn about innocent palestinians, using very forceful language there. and president biden when he was taking questions said this war, he believes, started because of his negotiated trying to get recognize, saudi arabia to recognize israel, and that's something that remember, our own bret baier traveled and interviewed the de facto leader of saudi arabia, and crown prince said we are closer every day to recognizing israel and spoke with netanyahu in new york and that's when the war kicked off on october 7th. >> kevin: spot on reporting there, interesting to watch and i should say, the president speaking for as long as he did and for as candidly as he did, was some what striking. lucas tomlinson, thank you, on nantucket. arthel, over to you. >> arthel: trey yingst is in southern israel and as lucas just said, the president had some off the cuff forceful words we just heard and he did tout that bridge as i said between saudi arabia and america to have israel walk over for peace deal and that he says that i can't confirm it, that is why he believes hamas struck when they did. trey. >> yeah, arthel, as president biden was speaking, at an air base behind me, some of those hostages that were released back into israeli custody were receiving medical treatment before heading on to hospitals in central israel. it's important to note when you look at president biden's comments, there is still a huge divide in how the americans see this moving forward and how the israelis see this moving forward. president biden there touting the diplomacy and rightfully so, the qataris were able to cut a deal between israel and hamas to get the first group of hostages out and if it goes forward as planned, you'll see a four-day ceasefire will end in 50 released from gaza in exchange for 150 prisoners released by the israelis. the question is not about this ceasefire. the question is about what comes next, the day after the ceasefire, what will that look like, and the reality on the ground is that the idea of a long-term truce or ability to have peace in the middle east is a great idea in comment, but in practice it's quite difficult and we saw this all play out over the past nearly 50 days, and so this is really what we are looking at in the coming days and weeks, part of that discussion and disagreement. arthel. >> arthel: trey yingst, southern israel, thank you very much, trey. kevin. >> kevin: jeff paul is in tel aviv with more on the hostages. you have been on with people released, momentous day in many wise and yet this guarded optimism that more will be released. what can you tell us about the day we have seen thus far? >> yeah, and since the deal was delayed a day, everyone has been holding their breath and some until they saw the bus cross into israel did not know if it was actually going to be a reality. so, the mood here, though, is a bit bittersweet because you have 13 people getting out, that is something to celebrate, of course. but think about the 200 plus in there, who are being held against their will by hamas. so, it's tough and it is a momentous moment and hopefully as many israelis have said here, we can sort of build on this, this is just a first of many to eventually get them all home. here is what we know about who has been released so far. we know 13 israelis, 11 foreign nationals. among the israelis freed, what we know about them. doron katz-asher, 34-year-old mother released with her two kids, raz and aviv, they were visiting family. and then daniel aloni, 45 years old, she and her daughter amelia, 5 year old, among the kidnapped released. three members of the munder family released, ruth, 78 years old and husband, her husband is inside still held. released with keren munder, the mother of ohad. ohad turned 9 years old while captive by hamas. additional, five elderly women were freed, 85 year's yaffa adar, the oldest out of the group and seen in a viral video taken away by militants in a golf cart. also hannah katzir, 76 years old, islamic jihad implied she had been killed but looks she's very much alive. and adina moshe, 72ers yoo old, hanna parry, and margalit moses. the morning started with a 7:00 a.m. ceasefire, that appears to be holding, it's critical for the next couple of days. that's when all this aid comes in. multiple fuel trucks dropped off fuel and cooking gas for the people in gaza. later in the afternoon we started to see the people coming out and we have to do this again tomorrow, the next day and the next day, keeping their fingers crossed the ceasefire holds and both parties keep their agreements. kevin. >> kevin: strong reporting as always. jeff paul, thank you. more on this breaking news story >> yeah, hey, kevin, good afternoon. we understand that momentarily some of the people who were released into israeli custody today, those 13, some of them will be flown from the air base here in southern israel to hospitals in central israel. this is the next step in the process. it is what we expected would happen. two of the hostages that were released have already been taken to medical facilities, likely two of the elderly women released in need of more immediate medical attention. overall, though, israeli officials are happy with the condition of the hostages released by hamas, i think they were thrilled to see that they were not being returned, people who were incredibly sick. this has been such a difficult moment, kevin, for israel, because people have such mixed feelings about today. they are so excited that the first group of hostages has been released and they hope that it is the beginning of a four-day process will see 50 israeli hostages coming home and also understand the fighting will continue inside gaza so the posture of israeli forces is high at this hour. the ceasefire that started at 7:00 a.m. has held so far, but tonight benjamin netanyahu making comments about what the future looks like and when we heard from president biden earlier, there is certainly a disconnect in what comes next. president biden focusing on the diplomacy that has taken place to allow the release of these hostages, and understanding on the ground that will get hostages out. they are negotiating with hamas. an organization that cannot be trusted in many of these conversations, but also an organization that is willing to come to the table when the qataris are mediating. military action, what happens next after the ceasefire is complete, and the reality is israel says they will go back to a full scale operation against the gaza strip. kevin. >> kevin: and that is so important to keep that in mind because as trey has been reporting throughout, yes, this is a circumstance where there is celebration but make no mistake about it, the prime minister, israeli defense forces and the whole of israeli government has made it clear the defense of their country will continue whether this four-day ceasefire holds or not. trey, thank you. back over to arthel. >> arthel: yeah, kevin, we are going to bring dave sears back in, a former navy seal team 6 troop commander. i ask you, what do you think about the military options on the table and i want to note when the president spoke earlier he was very reluctant to not -- to not call on israel to stop the defense of itself, but yet he did encourage as best he could to encourage them to limit the casualties of war. what do you make of what's in front of this idf right now? >> i think trey just hit it on the head. there is a disconnect, and you are going to see over the next four days if this ceasefire holds the international community and probably the united states put a lot of pressure on israel to back off and to continue into a ceasefire or truce or look for other arrangements. israel has no intention of that, nor should they. they need to continue on with the military takedown of hamas so they are completely elim eliminated. if they do not do this, hamas will do it again and again and will embolden others to do it as well. >> arthel: far from over, commander sears. appreciate your analysis. we'll take a short break. stay with us. like the cover-it-ups and brush-it-offs? >> well, this is a start. the point i would emphasize is today's hostage release would never have happened were it not for the fact that israel has taken the fight to the enemy and induced hamas to be forced in a way to support this tactical pause. in return for that, we got a few hostages released. hopefully we'll get more in the coming days. >> arthel: dan, this is far from over. what are you looking for the next 24, 48 hours?
