>> kayleigh: hello, everyone, this is "outnumbered," i'm kayleigh mcenany here with my co- cohost emily compagno. also joining us is martha maccallum, rachel campos duffy and former pennsylvania congressman, patrick murphy. we begin with tonight's battle royal of opposing ideologies, i can hardly wait, it is red state versus blue state showdown featuring florida governor ron desantis and california governor gavin newsom. they are facing off live 9 p.m. eastern on fox news. sean hannity will be moderating the 90-minute debate. some say could be a preview of the 2028 race. the two governors are not running against each other, but been taking shots at each other for months. expect fireworks in their first face-to-face meeting. the "wall street journal" is breaking down key numbers in their respective states, and they are eye-opening. check these out, homelessness cries, california currently leads with staggering 171,000 homeless residents, compare to florida, where there are just under 26,000. now let's move over to this stat. more than 1 million californians, 1 million, have left the state since 2019 and florida gained 737,000 new residents during the same period. florida holds an 11-point lead over california when it comes to fourth grade math test scores despite golden state spending 45% more on k-12 education per year. those are facts. martha, this debate is intriguing on so many level. battle of ideology, more to come on "wall street journal." what are you expecting? >> >> i'm looking forward to seeing this, politically and uch waing the debate style, desantis has really done well in the past several presidential debates, but he's on stage with a group of people. i remember doing a debate with him in florida when he was running for governor against the agriculture andrew putnam. he did well and it was a game changer. i'm curious to see in this one-on-one and every candidate wants this opportunity to not be going against people who you have varying degrees of differences on your same side. he is getting a mini-presidential debate. it will be eye-opening, sean upon do a great job drawing them out. we are struggling over who we are in this country. who are we on education? when you look at numbers you just mentioned, what is clear, california has and taxpayers there and federally have poured money into all of these efforts. they spend more on education, new york in the same boat, results are terrible. florida has a very vibrant and robust program. they are doing better, it is battle of ideas. we talk about issues, immigration, business formation very interesting, california versus florida. i talk to a lot of businessmen and women and they don't want to start a company in california. they want to start a company in places like florida or texas and you see that happening all the time, because tax advantages are there, opportunity is there, they will not get in your way, let you run your business, regulation is lower. we have to look at formation of new businesses. do people wake up and say, i want to start a company and employ people. i look forward to hearing these two on these issues. i will be curious where the economy is concerned. fabulous night to watch. >> kayleigh: absolutely, new business 2.7 million compared to 2.3 million in california. these are facts and statistics, style matters in debate. gavin newsom good on his feet, smooth with his words. you can have the fact pattern, you have to have delivery, that matters, emily. >> emily: that is true, and i think here many feel that governor newsom has a shine to him. but many feel it is sort of a greasy political stain. he can come off poorly. desantis can come off grounded and measured in a leadership way, others see that as paling, there is performance element that will matter. i say that with resignation, staggering facts here are so crucial for viewers to understand, it doesn't matter, it is filth. that is one out of eight resident in florida versus one out of 18 in california. the population surges in florida, it declines in california and yet unemployment rate in california is among highest in tcountry. the list goes on in every facet where california has plummeted in performance and value and florida is thriving. the "wall street journal," they illustrate the scorecard between florida and california say i'll bet you in my own words, newsom will ignore this, deflect and focus on trump and abortion and what will be telling to that degree is the response, the media coverage of that. the end of the day, those things might matter to many americans, whole litany matters more. it is up to getting the facts out and the sheen through to have desantis shine bright. >> kayleigh: patrick, as democrat on the couch, talk about newsom here and incentive. newsom, no victory to republicans,s does it feel like a red wave? it does, it is my grievance with my party, we are getting crushed on narrative. it seems like someone seeing himself as messenger for the puter and pair that with reuters and democrats have no biden backup plan for 2024 despite age concerns and pair that with the poll axios laid out, 67% of democratic and democratic leaning voters want someone other than biden. if newsom does well tonight, there will be clamoring for him to be the nominee. what are his incentives here? >> patrick: he's been a messenge and five years this might be a preview of what 2020 might look like. he's there to fight the good fight. take a step back -- >> kayleigh: does the good fight include being the nominee? >> patrick: not for this election. former president trump will be the candidate for the republican party. that is just what it is going to be, no way the folks on the republican side are going to make up enough ground, when we talk about january, february, months from primary votes. >> kayleigh: rachel, there is a scenario that often doesn't happen, conventions nominate nominees. you could see a scenario where there are fumbles by biden, a convention could change that. >> rachel: no question about that. i think ron desantis, when he was on the stage with the republican primaries, where their positions are similar, personality mattered and that is not a strong suit for ron desantis. he is kind of wooden and used consultant-tested answers that are rerehearsed. where he's shined when he goes to war with democrats and one-on-one and with the media. in this debate, with governor newsom, this is going to be interesting. there is data and facts that he has on his side. this is, as you said, martha, battle of what is america? do we want to be florida or california? a lot of people are looking at florida thinking that looks good. challenge for desantis is the strong suit for governor newsom, he is super charismatic, good-looking and slimy and willing to lie with no impunity. i don't generally like in the moment fact checking, ron desantis will have to do that and maybe get backup from sean on that, fascinating debate. >> kayleigh: big props to gavin newsom for being willing to come on. >> rachel: shows how confident he is. >> kayleigh: i think florida is better, that is my bias. watch tonight's debate between governor ron desantis and governor gavin newsom at 9:00 p.m., sean hannity moderating. and advocacy groups supposed to champion women is deafening as hamas continue terrorist barbaric attack against women and children. veryone, our m issin is to provide complete, balanced nutrition for strength and energy. yay - woo hoo! ensure, with 27 vitamins and minerals, nutrients for immune health. and ensure complete with 30 grams of protein. she is working so hard to not say anything, reminds me of the language we hear from the vice president, a lot of words that sound like they were created by a corporate spokesperson that mean nothing. a lot of people have witnessed this film that was shot by hamas. they wanted the world to see what they were doing. i saw this video, many people have, one of the most horrible parts of it is this young woman who has blood all over her and she's pushed into the back of a car and people climb in there with iphones and they are sticking the phone in there. it doesn't take imagination to figure out what is happening in this situation. cheryl sandburg is right, i'm so tired, either you stand for humanity or you don't. it doesn't matter and we've seen this so many times before with christianity and conservative women. some people don't matter in the equation of places like the un, i'm not sure what they stand for. if they can't come out and stand for this, they can say they are concerned about women and children, innocent women and children who are palestinian. say it, say what is going on. don't talk approximate gender crimes, talk about what is going on. >> emily: the vacum, kayleigh, you served as white house pres secretary, why is it so difficult to condemn this massive violence against women? why are they silent when all it takes to one sentence? >> kayleigh: yeah, she is saske and she says we have a reason, don't give me that bs, all the times you didn't need an investigation like when raham took 200 girls in iran, you were clear, you had shock and outrage women were being whipped amidthe taliban takeover. you said nudity and abuse have been documented by journalists and you didn't need an independent investigation, only when jewish women were being raped. no more of this, we will start cutting funding from the united nations, president biden gave 12 billion to united nations, one fifth of their budget, no more, not a single penny should go to this depraved organization that facilitates terrorism by not condemning it. >> patrick: rape as weapon of war is crime against humanity, we need to be clear, when you use rape or sexual violence by anybody, it is wrong. we cannot half step this and we need to be clear as america with our friends across the world they need to speak up. i love the fact this is nation approach against illegal and horrific actions of raping women, innocent civilians on october 7 and since. >> emily: where is our vice president? we're hearing from jeopardy host, where is female vice president who shattered class ceilings, leadings the charge, that is so simple to do. >> rachel: i share a different point of view. i agree with you on the un, i've never liked the un, never thought they put -- my beef is with feminism, you can see they do not stand up for christian women in africa, or women standing up against the trans movement. feminist movement is not about women, it is about abortion and communism, if you are looking for cheryl sandburg or hollywood actresses who are jewish, to stand on side of voiceless, don't look to the feminists, it is not their agenda and never has been. >> emily: so much more to come, more "outnumbered" in just a moment. - "best thing i've ever done." that's what freddie told me. - it was the best thing i've ever done, and- - really?
