>> this is been an epic journey. we are now headed to the home stretch nine and a half years on this project full-time writing a crew. huge amount of effort from so many people who put this together pretty really proud of it or break in our narrative. outline the spirit of our country. it's what we own it is a culture that is about americans. it is something to be really proud of. it speaks of rising to the occasion of what we can be. and at this point it will be shipped off on this wednesday. i'll be crossing the atlantic, headed to baltimore. that is a very exciting moment for us. september 13 will have a candlelit vigil which is 7:19 p.m. at sunset to honor our veterans and to speak about what has happened with the war, the change in the culture of the whole world. transformation moment. seaport really was and that will be in washington right next to the mall. what did you want to say what is the story you tell? >> anyone can understand it's really important. people come to washington to understand our history. and universal it is a visual and narrative it's called a soldier's journey. it's a father, a dad an allegory for the united states who leaves home. he leaves his wife, his daughter and it enters into the brotherhood of arms. leads at battle and in that battle he is transformed forever change. what is happening to the country, to the world and this individual human being? from that moment he is the shellshocked shoulder. that is what you're looking at right now that is a transformed soldier who will never be what he was before. he carries that weight of war and battle with him. the world was changed as well. the very last scene is him returning handing his daughter, which is the next generation, his helmet. and she is world war ii. so the war to end all wars is actually the beginning of wars that have continued for the last 104 years. i met is something i am doing a war memorial but ultimately we are doing something that speaks about healing and humanity. and our unity as americans. so, if you think about those soldiers when they went off to war 104 years ago they were neither democrats nor republicans. they were all americans and menace of the sculpture is about. it is a sculpture that speaks about who we are, americans. unifying factor here. >> you are from the bronx you also sculpted this in connecticut's. finally, do you think we still have as a country the fortitude and the courage and the ideals and the morals and the values that you depicted in this memorial? do you think we can face those threats today? >> yes we most certainly can. but we have to remain unified week cannot be fractured that is the key elements. we are very powerful country when we are unified. if we are constantly at battle internally and we do not have a sense of a history that is for all americans for that is why made the sculpture it very very specifically speaks to that moment of our history as america. we change the war enter in the last six months of the horrible conflict that left 22 million people decimated and we change the way the world would be. we maintained our freedom. we could still have that ability. that is a very critical thing you just asked me because culture and art can lead a life. that is what this a project is just about to do. so standby for that. eric: sabin howard we thank you, congratulations and chewed joseph who designed it and all those working on it. we look forward to covering the dedication of a soldier's attorney that will be in washington d.c. world war i andn our nations capitol fully recognized with this nation did to help save democracy in the world. safe trip back for you and those who are there. thank you for joining us. >> thank you. eric: we will behe w rightit ba. help fuel today with boost high protein, complete nutrition you need... ...without the stuff you don't. so, here's to now. boost.
